Doosh,

Although ATA and FL have agreed in principal on a course of action, the outcome will be decided by the BK courts after considering what is best for the creditors. This decision must consider any other offers made for all or part of the airline (i.e., AWA's potential offer for the whole airline).

Nothing is decided yet.
Correct!!!!

It is very interesting that ATA filed for bankruptcy when they obviously had this deal in the works already with AirTran. At first glance it would apear this cash infusion for the sale of MDW assets could have averted a bankrupty filing. Further, why announce this right after the filing when it would need court and creditor approval anyway?

Something smells here. My feelings for the ATA folks but I think a real screwjob is headed their way. The statement issued by ATA about MDW is a bad omen in my opinion.

Da Mayor wants some money too...

Chicago news last night said that ATA does not have gates to sell. Apparently the city of chicago owns the gates and ATA had preferential leases that the city controls. Mayor daley will sell the gates to any airline that agrees to make a little park/garden at each jet bridge surrounded by wrought iron fence that his cronnies will sell you.
