What keeps the emergency exits on the new 737's (they're hinged at the top and open out) from opening in flight?
Heard it was the CA being forced across the partition![]()
I heard it was an AirTran pilot who was upset that the ATN MEC shut down the forum.Heard it was the CA being forced across the partition![]()
The overwing emergency exits lock when all of the following occur:● The aircraft air/ground logic indicates that the aircraft is in the air or both thrust levers are advanced.
● Three of the four entry/service doors are closed.
● Either engine is running.
on an NG, the door opens out. FRM does not mention air pressure as a method of latching.Air pressure from the cabin also prevents the handle from being operated. It's not just an electronic system.
