Anyone out there got any feedback on the Astra SPX / G100.

Used to be plenty available, now only 1 or 2 with APU.

Anyone got personal experience with it? Product support improve since Gulfstream bought it?

I've heard that quality control and support is still kinda' sucky but Gulfstream is working to improve it and is making progress. That's just second hand info from a guy I know flying a G100.

What about the G200?

Saw the G200 once and got to look at the interior. Looked nice and roomy. Any comments on the plane?

Same reply as above. From what I've heard the quality control is simply not up to Gulfstream standards and the same problems plauge the entire line. The G200 is indeed a nice airplane - when it flies that is. I talked to pilots that have had zero problems with airplanes and heard of owners flying the airplane for 2 weeks and demanding that Gulfstream come take it back there were so many problems and everything in between. We(we being NJA's red headed stepchild company in Cincinnati) operate one and I think that for the first 12 months it literally spent more time in Gulfstream maint. facilities than it did online.

From what I gather talking to pilots of the G200 these are more than the standard 'new aircraft type' growing pains. It should be a good airplane when they get these issues resolved.

so were the x's

so were our x's, too-we had an ongoing agreement with the rental car companies in toledo-they just left a car there for our guys to drive home as soon as they dropped it off weekly. fastest plane between two service stations.

Support is still weak and as folks have said the quality is not only not up to Gulfstream standards but the aircraft, while having great performance, is too unreliable for the $. There are some better choices out there for the money.

G200 has very nice roomy interior for a midsize plane.
decent range and easy to fly...
but it has serious a$$ reliability problems.....
I know for a fact more than a few were returned and traded in on real Gulfstreams.
Product support and parts were a complete disaster...
disclaimer:
bear in mind this was a year or so ago....Im SURE Gulfstream has been working hard to improve it all, but that does no good when you are grounded in some foreign counry at 0300...
