(Dayton Daily News on Wed) Sorry, I couldn't hear the veiled threat in previous post with the article attachment.

Dasburg, in a letter Wednesday to the ABX Air board of directors, said ASTAR's original offer of $7.75 per share is fair in light of market prices of ABX stock prior to ASTAR's offer. Dasburg also suggested that ABX's value would suffer if the company should reject ASTAR's bid.
"Given the premium price we identified in my letter and, in ASTAR's judgment, the unattractive future prospects for ABX in the absence of a transaction with ASTAR, we believe the price of $7.75 is a full and fair price and generous to the shareholders of ABX Air," Dasburg wrote.
Quint Turner, ABX's chief financial officer, said this of Dasburg's written comment about an ABX future without ASTAR: "It says 'in ASTAR's judgment.' That's the opinion of someone who is trying to buy you." ABX operates DHL's Wilmington air freight delivery hub.

There, that's better.

No one likes to see their company trashed publically, repeatedly. (As an aside, about our webpage, we _are_ in negotiations, you know.) You normally put out informative/thought provoking posts. I was concerned that you were going over to the "Dark Side".

But everyone loves to see their flight management publically flogged. Here, I'll start: Our flight department was incapable of writing the ANA schedules themselves. They threatened to dismantle the whole thing because they couldn't figure it out (GMT times, etc.)

I have a question about your vice pres of flt ops guy, General Mallory, is it? The Astar website lists him as:

Prior to joining ASTAR in June 2004, General Mallory served as an Aviation Safety Inspector for the Federal Aviation Administration. He is a retired senior captain and chief pilot from Northwest Airlines, holds an Air Transport Rating, and pilots his own aircraft. He has over 15,000 hours flying experience including 10,000 hours as a pilot in command. General Mallory has an extensive business background, a very distinguished military service record, and strong academic credentials in both civilian and military leadership.

Is this guy as bright as all you guys claim?

Only in his own mind. Credentialled and "bright" aren't the same.

You can bet this about Mallory....when his name is in the public forum and he has control of the spin, (which he does on the company website), he's gonna trot out every medal, trophy, and accolade he can find, cause he's all about Ted Mallory.

Mallory has two kids. A boy and a girl. The boy is named Ted. The girl is named Teddie. That's really all you need to know to gain insight into this guy. I'd hate to be there when the laughter stops.
