Drive the 40 mins down to Glenwood springs. OK hotels and good places to eat. plus gets you out of aspen.
Go to the Glenwood Cannon Brewpub. Great food, even better beer.

Agreed!! If you get a rental car, thats the place to go. Not as expensive as aspen, and a very good time!!!
