Asheville/Western NC

I'm looking to get the heck out of Florida, and I heard that the Asheville, NC area is really nice. Does anyone live there, or any other place in Western NC? I'm looking to get a job at an FBO, at least to start out with. What are real estate prices like? Anything else you'd like to add?

Dream on, Good Buddy. Asheville is sky-high real estate and probably increasing at an exponential rate as I type this message...

I don't live there, but I have relatives in (around) Asheville and D.C. and I have enjoyed the visits and the drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway between those two points for, hmm, maybe 30 years.

Beautiful Country, but not much in the way of flying.
