Have some questions regarding ASA. First how many pilots and what does the hiring look like for the next couple of years? How long is it taking to upgrade to the left seat and how long ago were they hired? How's seniority in regards to the 700 vs 200? Thanks

There are 1639 pilots on the latest seniority list.
Hiring looks good, for the 25 RJs we are receiving in 05.
Upgrade will most certainly be 5 + years. If we dont get anymore aircraft past the 25, upgrade will basically be non-existent at ASA. Movement by attrition is only about 50 pilots per year. With no further growth, well, do the math. Personally, I have been here almost 3 years, and I am about 400 from the most junior Captain.

I think it is going to get better. My class (Dec) had 20 people and I think every class behind me is going to have 24.

The last guy in my class crossed the 1700 number.

Also, look at it this way....we are hiring more than most airlines. Although I did hear that Chataqua upgrade time was about a year.

So they are having a class each month this year? When was ASA suppose to stop hiring? I hear you guys are getting 25 new aircraft in '05 are they all 700's?

I faxed my stuff to pilot recruiting, hope to hear "something"

I've heard second hand that 14 will be converted to 700s starting in April, but that's not confirmed...not by me anyway.

Hiring going from 20 a month to 24 a month for the rest of the year. Beyond that, I have no idea.

Starting to hear rumors that somebody wants 8 of the remaining non-PEC ATRs too.

Heard that they want to take over the leases on the 8 we don't own. If so, why wouldn't Skip want to sell the 4 that we do own?
