I've been here a long time now but I still dont get this:

ATR 31 lines 12 RES F/o's

CR7 113 lines 12 RES F/o's

Why don't I see the whole picture??? LOL

Do ATR F/o's call out sick alot more than CR7 F/o's?

Sorry, I don't mean for a thread hijack, but speaking of ATRs... is it true ASA is phasing them out by the end of this year? Or next? Any word on the plans for the Italian birds?

It's about as true as it was in 2006 when SH they'd be gone by the end of the year.

The "said" that now they'll be gone by the end of 2007, but we are useing them for Hilton Head at least until Setp. 2007, so one really knows.

You don't see the whole picture;).
A bunch of FOs where in differences training in January and were not considered by planning when building the Feb. lines. Halfway through the bid cycle they "realized it" (you're welcome) and created 21 relief lines to allow those people to bid a line. Thus the bottom 10 or so relief line holders are pretty much on reserve. Plus there's no FO shortage on the 70 like there is on the fiddy.

Let's not forget why we're short......

Last week, a reserve fiddy captain was assigned a 4 day trip pairing. He DH'd to LAX, arrived around 1500 local, then sat in his hotel until his assigned 1700 local duty in (26 hours), flew an OAK round trip, then overnighted in LAX again. The third day, after approx 19 hours of rest in LAX, he flew a LAS round trip, and overnighted in LAX again. The fourth day, he flew 4 legs home to ATL. The total trip value (block) was around 10 hours.

Thank God for proper Crew Scheduling, or else we'd really be in trouble.
