ASA will probably hire in mid 04. Nothing official yet but it sounds like 120 to 150 new hires for the 15 or so new crj 700's we'll take on next year. That's the good news.
The bad news is that, that's it for now. No growth in 05 or beyond that we have been told of. I've been here over a year and I'm still sitting reserve. Not bad if you live in base but it sucks as a commuter. Also they do have a pool of folks waiting to start so that will limit the number of positions still left open. We're also in contract talks that seemed to have stalled. I think our union is dragging it out in hopes that the economy will pick up.
