Here is to hoping you don't tear up when you receive flying that SkyWest airlines pilots earned. We can all be happy for ASA.
 Ummm...

You do know I fly for OO, right?

...or maybe it is just late and I missed your point. If so, my bad.:0

probably open DFW since they just closed it... They will do the opposite of what everyone thinks they will, I remeber setting in the DFW base closure meeting and Management reassuring us that they had a lot of experience because they all used to work for Eastern, etc. I always found that odd that you would hire management that ran other airlines into the ground. They should be in jail instead of running ASA.

How about that!

It is interesting that the only managements in the world that are actually proud of, and brag about working at failed or failing companies are airline managements. What's up with that? Can you imagine showing up at an interview and bragging about how many planes you've crashed?

Suppose SkyWest closes SLC for ASA, but offers those pilots affected a position at SKYW under reasonable terms? SKYW work rules and pay, seniority integration. If the airplanes stayed in SLC for SKYW; if they stayed with ASA and went back to Atlanta? What say you?

I did not know we had 25 airplanes on order--when did they tell us that, not in the last 9 months. Remember ASA and Comair could only fly like 70 --70 seaters for Delta. So I don't know when we ordered more 70s? Anyways...we would shut delta down if we strike and mostly Skywest since 68% of money comes from DL...So we have alot of power right now!!!!

:cool:Jon...only if skwst got ALPA on the property. Not having any say in the job or money you recieve just does not sit well with me. The right to work thing is not good for our industry. We as pilots NEED to have more power than just taking what they give you! Just my .02!

Suppose pigs flew out of your ass????

If I was offered a Skywest job, my shoes would still be in Atlanta I would jump for it so quick. Better company, better pay, and a 2.1% savings.

You can't be serious ?? I don't believe this was floating around the lounge. Nobody is that stupid to repeat such a rumor.

It would be easier to climb Mt Everest barefoot then overcome the seniority issues this proposal raises !

If Skywest opened that door I would bid SLC just to be sucked into the diversified portfolio. I'm also willing to bet I would make more there than I do at ASA even after we sign our new awesome ALPA wonder.

Skywest offering ASA pilots is SLC to come over to Skywest is an interesting concept. As far as seniority integration is concerned, that would be legally be between ALPA and Skywest management. Skywest pilots would be limited to an nonbinding, nonvoting opinion. I agree, its nice to work for a management team that for the most part has made a union not so much of a need, but when you start dealing with integrating part of a union, Skywest pilots are at the serious short end of the stick. If that decision comes my way, I honestly do not know what I do. I do I would be voting in the union as soon as I could though.
Management might be inclined to do it, because it pulls 150 from the senior end of the union, giving ASA a more junior bias and therefore more inclination to vote in a concession for growth.

Just out of curiousity, when was the junior capt in SLC on the CRJ hired at Skywest? What about some of the other bases. At ASA, CR7 Capt goes at about 8 years for both bases and the CR2 and ATR are about 4.5-5 years.
