All the best parts of Atlanta!!!

With all due respect, we have some good and some bad. Just like everywhere.

dont worry now is the cue for them to come in and say but but nothing is ever the pilots fault! We want a raise!

The pilots and FA's are great. The trick is getting onto the airplane. Unfortunately, the ground and customer service support in ATL blows. I have had good experiences with the service at ASA outstations (the whole 2 I have been too).

Gotta love the Atlantitude.

Atlantitude is right. Man, these people suck at service and communication skills. I've actually found some ASA outstations to be very pleasant, so I should not group ASA as a whole. But ATL has a lot of "A" holes.

ASA is by far the worst service ever. Where do they find these loosers that work the gates, ramp, counters, etc...

I'm not trying to take up for the rampers, but other busy airports have the same problem. It's not just the ATL that stinks. Have you ever tried talking to a ramper or two and discuss with them what is going on besides complaining in the cockpit or on a message board? Or maybe you aren't comfortable talking to da colored folk ons da ramp? I think things would work a little better if we weren't so f*ckin segregated at ASA with pilots in one area, FA's in another area, and rampers in another. I don't know why I even responded to this thread. See ya on da ramp!

That's BS, we share the same crappers with the rampers and FAs and it hasn't helped a bit! In fact, they don't even write funny stuff on the walls in the stalls.

And they don't even do a courtesy flush when they're in there! They just sit there and absorb what they just 'created'!

Segregated???????????? We couldn't get that lucky...

I've been through many different hub's and out stations and I've seen at lot of ramp operations. I've got to say that ASA in ATL is not the best. As far as gates in ATL, holy cow ASA is the Worst Ever.

Its Losers, not Loosers!!

I'm guessing the same place you learned to spell........

It's in the water!

Well I am sure that I will get in trouble for this, but it is pure demographics. It has been that way for years and it aint going to change especially with the low pay they get. You cant attract qualified individuals with Wendy's pay but you can get an FO for less!!
That last part was almost a joke, then I realized it really wasn't:erm: .

Not exactly true my friend. Another example of union LIES! That should read only in 1st year pay circumstances where one never breaks the monthly guarantee. Name one airline with 2nd year FOs that make less than wendy's workers. Not ones that run the store just the workers.

CommutAir, $19 and change per hour equals about $370 a week. Comes pretty close.

It never ceases to amaze me that commuter pilots complain about the payscales that they AGREED to!!! You guys accepted the position knowing what the lousy pay was going to be so why complain now? Its not completely your fault. I mean, if the folks that sat on the hiring boards didn't hire commuter pilots there would be no incentive to get the "all valuable 121 time". But noooooo, Airtran decides that 500 hours of 121 PIC is a requirement and SWA, along with others put a high value on that experience (unless of course you are a military pilot in which case you are qualified with less hours of flight time). And then after encouraging pilots to accept poverty wages as a means to an end, the guys at the majors point the finger at the commuter pilots for "lowering the bar".

It seems to me that the big boys could do alot to affect change in the industry by NOT hiring commuter pilots and instead hire ONLY former military, corporate, or Part 135 drivers (at least we get paid close to what we are worth). Take away the incentive to work for a food stamp qualifying payscale and those companies would be forced to increase their pay.

rant over and apologies to the many who I offended,
Fo

Just tired of all unions campaigns of lies anger and fear. Thats all. Theyd have everyone believe that unless you make at least 100k a year your living like a poor slob. This is simply not a fact therefore I point out union misinformation drives. Time for the LIES to stop. BTW ALPO where do all those dues go. The average pilot could very well put in over 50k throughout his career if he makes captain and does it for a long time. Even more if one makes a regional airline. its time for those SOBs to show where that money is all going. 50k is an awfully high attorney retainer fee if you ask me.

And, believe it or not, we're all tired of hearing you whine and complain about how evil all unions are. Why don't you put your money where your mouth is and quit CMR, before they end up shutting down, and go to work somewhere where there are no unions. Then you can tell us all how wonderful your new life without unions really is. The only one that I hear anger, fear, and lies from is you.

People, people. Airlines sell time! If you want service go hang out at the Ritz. $200.00 buys you time to go from A to B. You no likie, you takie the bus, no wait that might actually cost you 350.00. BUWAHAHAHHAH:eek:

REGARDING ASA=TERRIBLE SREVICE......

There is some sort of "regulation" in the ATL airport that the workforce has to come from the local area, and as a result we get total "crap" to meet face to face with our customers, whether it be Wendy's or Starbucks. We never will provide a pleasant customer check-in procedure as long as we have total idiots working the gates! Where the @*@* do these people come from!?

And, how the heck can ramp personnel move more slowly than to not be stopped altogether? Just watch Atlanta, they can do it! Takes me sometimes 20-30 minutes to get my RJ parked while they hold a mini-conference in full view of the passengers trying to figure out where to put us!
Many of these folks are a waste of space, and are using my oxygen!

Clean em out, and let's get on with the job!

(I am only slightly drunk)

Regards, all!

Im just showing the truth my friend. Unions prey on false fears that they create. They want everyone to fear they will lose their job if someone even farts in the flight deck when they think no one is listening. They want people to think they cant get their jobs back without a union. They want people to think they cant get their medical back without a union. FALSE. Unions use ANGER as a way to get the mob mentality going and get people willing to fight for a battle they can not when. They LIE saying their demands are reasonable when they are really a waste of time "shoot for the moon" ploy. I will not quit comair I will do what it takes to keep my job alive. I will also do what it takes to END FORCED UNIONISM. If people really want to fall for the union BS thats their choice. I just remind them they do have rights and can tell the union to shove it when they feel like it. If unions end forced unionism and mx fees and show where all their moneys go then I will withdraw my membership along with many others and go quietly into the night. The union is too cowardly to do that. They just want people like me gone because they do not want to be exposed. TOO BAD DUANE. YOU HAVE LIED FAR TOO LONG TO FAR TOO MANY PEOPLE. Your campaign of ANGER FEAR AND LIES WILL NO LONGER WORK.

No, you are just telling the truth as YOU see it. That is called an opinion. Your opinion is not shared by the majority of pilots, which is one reason why ALPA and other pilots unions exist. In most areas of the economy I am violently anti union. I have been on the management side of bad unions. However, in the airline business, I have found that a strong union is a must. If you have not read "flying the line" maybe you need to. What do you think stops CMR management from allowing a pilot to get to 364 days of employment, firing them, and then rehiring them at first year wages again? Do you think that good business ethics is what does it? Maybe the government? Try again. This is one of the things that ALPA was formed to stop. And the non union airlines don't use those practices because they don't want a union to form. Thus, the union is doing it's job by not being there. Maybe you need to educate yourself on why the union was formed in the first place. Then again, maybe you think that you have.
