Get ready boys and girls!

The Executive Board authorized an initial allocation of $2 million from the Major Contingency Fund for ASA MEC strike-preparedness, family-awareness, and communications programs. The MEC was directed to submit a financial operating plan to the Executive Council for approval in accordance with Article IX, Section 14C(2). Prior to submission, the President will appoint a Strike Oversight Board in accordance with ALPA policy.

I don't know what will occur, but I bet the growth carrot for ASA will be thrown out there, and for a little less money--you will grow and Comair will not.

Get real!!! I don't want to strike. Honestly, our current contract is not bad. Where else can you get full-time pay for part-time work. If you need more money, open a side business.

You are crazy if you don't in this industry, even if you are at a major and making more money!!!!

Mo MONEY

I don't work for ASA and never had to strike. I know it's hard on eveyone envolved. Saying that, you can't be happy with making little money. Otherwise mesa wins again. Plus the majors love to wipsaw us back and forth someone has to make a stand.

Realyman,
Have you taken a look at the negotiations updates? The company is trying to take away things from our current contract. Is that what you want?

All I know is that I just got off a trip during this hurricane crap and when all said and done I got 4 extra hours of credit...up to 100 hours of pay and climbing!!!!

Not a bad contract....what have they taken away???

Oh wow...... we're in trouble........

My vote is for Bush!!!

BTW, I am not a management whore, but I am the pimp of my paycheck!!!

You idiots that actually believe all of the union (we rule the world) crap...need to get real.

Our job is about moving people from point A to B. That is it!!!! We need safe working conditions and we have it. I would love more money!!! I really don't think quality of life here at ASA is that bad. Lots of days off and home all the time, and I am fairly junior (3.5 years)

Get real...diversify your income a little. Get a side gig that is outside aviation. I can understand that if flying is everything to you....sure I would be a huge union guy/flying king/...blah blah blah...

Get a life and stop complaining...or QUIT!!!!especially if you are senior to me!!!

Flamebait. The guy (used loosely) has made three posts, all of them dumber than the next. He obviously doesn't work here.

Realyman is correct. Another source of income would be a very wise choice. If you rely on this business to carry you through marriage, kids, and a nice lifestyle, you've already got one foot in the grave. If a side gig supplements or better yet supasses flying (not hard to do anymore) income, you'll sleep better at night and laugh at these industry cycles. Trust me, I know.

That is my point...Actually I would never cross a picket line, but I will not support a strike either.

I do laugh at what I hear from the union and at the airport. The reason I don't know about our negotiations is because I am busy making real money off the airport...outside of flying.

It is easy, but takes effort, to make more than flying in a side job. He11, I have made more already this year on my side gig than I will in all of 2004 flying for ASA...and that does not include the two deals I have next week, and two more next month...

If you are wise you will listen...I am giving away solutions to your problems...

I see by your info that you're at a regional. I'm impressed by what you already know w/ only 4500 hrs. You've found the secret to not only enjoying this lousy career but actually making solid cashflow despite it. Congratulations, you know what takes mainline guys years of uncertainty, paycuts, bankruptcies, furloughs, and stagnation to figure out. Most RJ pilots are going to learn this the tough way as THEY now become undercut, outsourced, and bankrupt. To think that 70% growth and quick upgrades were the norm. In a sick devious way, I find it amusing.

Absolutely absurd! Why should we have to work second jobs? Are you actually listening to your own arguements? Why not just work for free?
