Like we didn't get enough bad press already... Anyone see us on CNN Headline this morning? They were doing an piece on the new look of the Wall Street Journal, then mentioned an article in it that talks about the poor performance of the Regionals and how you might be better off driving if faced with riding on one. To top it all off, they posted the on time performance percentages and there at the very top of the worst performers list (as usual) was ASA. As if we needed any more bad press... Just plane embarrassing (spelling intended for all you grammar Nazis).

Sweet let me be the first one:

Atlanta is a busy airport. The job pool isn't up to snuff. Delta makes bad schedules. Weather patterns favor other carriers. I got the ball rolling... Lets see how many excuses we can get before page two.

Note: I have a hunch pilots will not be mentioned in any of the excuses.

speaking of delays...I haven't had one going into da ATL since all five rwys have been up...the longes EDCT I've had was not longer than 15.

Also...I think the ramp has improved a bit over the last few weeks. Just a bit.

...just my ovbservations

Imagine that - CNN actually reported a story that was unbiased, unslanted and actually truthful.

I wouldn't worry too much. After the scathing article in the AJC and that little quip that mentioned something about "ASA management needs to be hosed out" or something to that effect...... When Mngmt was confronted and asked by an IP what they had thought about it, the reply was "Oh, they're not talking about us......" Riiiigghhttttttt. Don't worry the Wall Street really wasn't talking about ASA per say.

The new runway and the closure at ATL had a lot of delays too, for like 3 months?

If our leadership team were smart they knew it was coming and they should of planned for this. Instead they run things as normal history tells the story of the result.

ASA MGT only care about making money and keeping DAL shareholders happy. ASA is making money hand over fist and as long as that happens, MGT will not be touched. Crew complaints fall on deaf ears when the sound of the cash register is dinging in the ears of the 8th floor.

Call me crazy but ASA's perfomance has done a 180 since last year this time. I rarely wait longer than 5 minutes for a gate now (maybe just luck). The EDT times, even when weather is crappy, aren't that bad, if any. I think things are changing just a bit...

It's winter... wait until the summer at this time.

Truth is not a slam.

Exactly. If ASA mgmt were actually able to change things they would consider these reports constructively as motivation to make changes rather than try to blow it off as untrue keeping us at the bottom. The one factor holding us back is BL and others in positions that were brought up from within before the aquisition.

Yeah, those lazy pilots should be out there loading up the bags when no ramper shows up

...and the FO should marshall the airplane in when there's no one there to do it.

...and when there is no parking spot, the pilots should park on a taxiway and usher the people inside, unload the bags, find a tug, and drive the bags to their proper connections.

...and the pilots should use the TCAS to vector themselves no more than one mile behind the proceding traffic, for a more efficient traffic flow.

...and the pilots should make the schedule more realistic. Wait, the pilots don't make the schedule, well they should.

What else is new ASA will continue to suck as long as we have our current mis-management team and they keep everything in ATL. ATL is a piss poor city to start with.
