"In ASA history this week...
Five years ago, on Nov. 19, 1999, ASA unveiled a special livery for one of its 50-seat CRJs that featured the City of Atlanta and commemorated the airline's 20th anniversary. The livery, mostly green, blue and peach, depicted Atlanta's skyline, Stone Mountain and the phrase "Celebrating 20 Years." Ship N849AS still wears this special livery"

Any idea how much longer we have to deal with this paint scheme?

Any rumors about Blue Bonnett once we pull out of DFW?

The original had a peach painted on the tail before it was painted solid blue. Apparently it looked like a bare arse. Wish I had a pic...

I think we should paint a confederate flag on the vertical stabilizer of our aircraft and change our call sign to rebel.

Then we get General Lee to take over as president of ASA.

Jetstream,

Thanks for the nod. The first thing I would do is sell all of the RJs (with premission from my new pal Gerry Grinstein) and replace them with cheaper airplanes, like Shorts 360s. Those Winnebeggos were "hot" in the day, and I am not just talking about the lack of air conditioning. We would use those airplanes on special intra-Georgia routes, like Valdosta to Athens, and then onto Albany, with a short "technical" stop in La Grange, our newest Delta gateway. Those flights would be at night mostly, flying rubber dog $**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**, and left over bags we couldn't carry on our other "new" airplanes---the EMB-110 or "Bandit." I think replacing the RJs with these "new" aircraft could really lift the spirits of of our happy employees, as well as cause severe hearing loss. Enjoy the new fleet boys, I will be driving to the Ritz Carlton in Buckhead in my new BMW for a quick brunch.....

Bye Bye--General Lee

General, you're way out of line. The Bandit is too expensive to operate on those kind of routes. I think maybe you could do better with Robinson R22s and Blimps.

Yeah, the Olympic paint scheme was the best, but unfortunately had the shortest lifespan. The current paint scheme on ship 849 is just horrible in my opinion. I have so many pax ask me what the hell it even is. Once I tell them they are like, "Oh." Surely the think tank of flightinfo.com can think of something better to represent the ATL.

Here are some ideas:
1. Pro sports theme
2. Local corporate sponsors (Coke, HD, Ted Turner, etc.)
3. MosDef
4. Just paint it like the rest of the fleet

Anyone else?

Hi, my name is Al Reynolds and I just married Star Jones because of her LOOKS.....

Didn't we try to kill this airplane a while back by breaking the gear on landing in ATL, aka Slider 2? I think she'll be around for a while!
