How long are most new hires sitting on reserve right now at ASA? Also are they hiring into the 700 as well?

Stay away. Why would you want fly an airplane that pays the same in the first year and virtually guarantees your quality of life won't improve? Oh, never mind, it is a cool looking airplane, I forgot.

If things continue like they are now, not very long for reserve. The company however will only build enough lines to keep the required coverage. All the rest gets dumped into open time to be picked up for time and a half.

Yes, they do hire into the 700. Your class may be get 0 though. Or your class may be all 700. Same pay for the first year. BTW, it's just another airplane.

oakum boy..the guy just asked if they were hiring into the 700..he didn't say anything about preferring that airplane.

good response tarzan. The only thing i will add is that the company can only withhold up to 4% of the flying when constructing the lines.

Yea I don't really care which plane I get assigned. Just courious because I ran in to a 700 f/o and he said the lines for the 700 were a little better then the 200 (longer flights in the 700) Also do they let you pick up open time when your on reserve?

Well 72hr's isnt too bad.... I just hate having being woken up by scheduling at 6am! At lease I can try and pick up some trips so I have some idea what I am doing! What are typical reserve schedules? 4 days on 3 off?

Also is reserve longer on the 700?

More like 5 days on, 2 days off, extendable to 6 days on with 1 off at the discretion of scheduling. Some guys have been on reserve for a year now.
