I'm optimistic this week(yea I know) that they will get a lot done and finally get moving on the $$$ aspects of the contract this week. I guess we will find out tonight if the compnay is finally ready to get real on the financial sections of the contract(and scope/merger protection/retro etc). What do you guys think?

talk amongst yourselves.......

Without scope there is no contract to consider....

SCOPE #1 Pay #2 which want be huge but we will do ok...most likely a signing bonus..#3 something in language to provent a future 8 year contract..

don't believe the hype

Let's just make sure we don't sucked in by the "we're getting airplanes, we're growing, look at all the movement" crap. mngmt has been using these lines for years, at many airlines, in an effort to get a bs contract passed. these are empty promises. hold the line and believe it when you see it.
remember if it's broke it's broke, get it fixed.

Won't happen. OUR negotiation team won't allow that. We've come too far. Thank goodness you-know-who didn't get elected!

Ready To Strike

I wasn't speaking of our negotiation team, I am speaking of the pilot population at large... if they come up with something to look at, I don't want everyone to jump at the first piece of crap that comes out because we are getting planes(or better yet keeping planes... nice spin BL), or upgrading or anything.
I think were on the same side though.

ready to tell them to take a flying leap myself. voted to strike

You really should push for those Chuck Norris DVDS. If that really is on the table you need to stand strong. Unity on that is key!

So the company came in this morning and asked immediately for a 3 hour caucus....just before lunch the negotiatior draged them back in....Im sure we will hear more soon.

Bueller.............Bueller, anyone...Bueller!!
What's the word from today's session? ALPA needs to get this info out faster or else people loose faith in the unions comittment.

Umm... given the pace of the last few sessions, they're probably still at the table. But go ahead and blame ALPA while you get to sleep at a reasonable hour. Idiot.

I figured there would be something out by now. They said they would go late into the night...they weren't kidding I guess.

Be patient guys/gals. Things are going to start moving in the right direction. One of our training pilots told me that we are about to get some airplanes that the company can't hide anymore....empty threats (like we did'nt know that one) and they are going to have to COME TO JESUS and swallow a HUGE TURD!!!

#1 Scope
#2 Payraise
#3 100% backpay!!!!

Why add the idiot to the end of your post? What makes you think I blamed or am blaming ALPA for anything?
It's people like you, jumping the gun and throw insults for no apparent reason that give the rest of us at ASA such a bad rep!

More frequent updates please!!

I am trying to be patient, but 10 minutes to leave a vars update is NOT a lot to ask. Nothing fancy, just a SHORT summary. 30 seconds worth instead of the normal 4 minute "Item # 11" diatribe.

The MEC is doing a fine job at the table, but they are NOT doing a good job of communicating!!

I would rather see a good summary late at night or the next morning than just a little tid bit. Give these guys a break. Looks like they were working until the evening and still managed to get the summary out late last night. Have some patience.

I got the connection email. Progress is being made. Retirement is pretty much done. All the other sections are being passed today.

Almost 4 1/2 years, you should have a little patience. How would you react if Flight Control called you in the middle of a Cat II approach to ask how it was coming along? Surely you would respond with a big STFU!

Let them do their jobs, then they will get the info out.

Yeah, that was probably a little over the top. I'm sorry. Nonetheless, I get annoyed when people seem spring loaded to take pot shots at the union all the time. The summary you were looking for was put out this morning. After 4 years, what does a couple of hours mean? Do you honestly think these guys put off their updates? I'm sure they were working late last night. Now you have your summary. You'll have your summary of today tomorrow morning. Just be patient.

Again, the idiot comment was out of line, but your post most certainly did seem to be pointing a finger at ALPA.

Understand that management wants to drag this out longer now until Comairs done negotiating concessions so they have a new lower bar to leverage us against.......so, until that is done, don't look for much progress on money issues

Richard G. and Freight...I don't feel I need to explain myself but her goes.
At midnight last night there was nothing from the union or the company about the days sessions.....sooooooo I posted here my thoughts. I at nowhere said anything negative about the union. I feel and still do that a briefing could be sent to the pilot group by midnight! Especially after reading the tiny blurb they emailed this am I really feel something could have been done sooner....kind of like when they put hourly or tri daily VARS out last year during some of the optimistic sessions.
