A tax problem will eventually lead to an income problem for more folks. Haven't you gotten the memo that government produces NOTHING? It is a liability to the public to fund since it produces nothing unlike a business which produces and creates wealth.

Do I think we are over-taxed in the U.S.? Yes. But what some of you Right Wingers don't really get is that taxes were high in this country long before Obama took office. Do some countries have no income tax? Yes, the ones with natural resources like oil. And although we do have oil, unfortunately we have beavis and butthead company who can't drill without losing a gazillion gallons every few years. But I digress.

The only part of McCain's platform that I agreed with was using a hatchet instead of a scalpel when cutting the budget. We can start with the Air Force One bulls###. $60,000 per hour that the president flies, 98% funded by taxpayers. More if you take into account the salaries involved, and the fact that there are TWO AF1 747s, the C-17s that follow with the entire motorcade, fuel, trucks, etc, and all the other B.S. that's involved. Tony Blair flies British Airways. Other countries use aircraft already in their military service.

I hear this again and again. How do you pass this off as truth? Most Right Wingers haven't agreed with it under either Bush, Bush, Clinton, etc. Reagan at least moved in the right direction. The problem simply comes down to the political class choosing to buy votes with your tax money. Those that contribute the most generally can not muster enough of a vote to overcome the leaches. Hence, we continue down this path that will have us in the same position that Europe faces today.

Ever hear the saying, "Give an inch and he'll take a mile?" Human nature is an ugly thing in this regard. You appear to disregard it. Until we own up to our own self destructive behavior, we will never fix these issues. Oddly enough, the Left seems to have this down on the enviromental side but fails utterly to afix the blame to true human nature side of the equation.

Your top 2 FO's, due to their income from ASA will be getting a tax increase with the expiration of the Bush tax cuts? I must have missed something. I'm sure many of you do better away from ASA. That can be said of every airline out there. My point in being a "prick" was pointing out that so many people who aren't even going to be effected by the "socialist" president's tax increases are out there jumping on the anti-Obama bandwagon. Their litmus test for supporting a president, or candidate, is based on race/abortion/religion etc. I found a lot of that when I attended Auburn, BTW. Wasn't bashing ASA. I know plenty of people from AU still flying there.

Yup I see the same thing everyday as well. I'm proud to be from the south but its not about facts & figures when discussing politics down here with some people. Obama has done more to help our small business than Bush ever did but maybe that is just me?

it came from wildly overpriced contracts done by companies who bought off politicians. The same as nearly all government contracts...and no it has nothing to do with what color Obama's skin is. Carter sucked and nearly ruined the country as well as Bush. But, given the choice, I'd take a corrupt "right winger" over a corrupt "left winger" any day of the week and twice on Sunday...At least the right isn't trying to disarm me so they can enslave me and my children for the forseable future...they just want to save my soul! halleluah! (beyond saving now anyway)...

and if businesses aren't creating wealth, whats the point? To provide people with jobs?...jobs are a side benefit of creating wealth...unless you live under Socialism....which kinda' goes back to my point about the current set of corrupt politicians...
