Can some of you who have recently interviewed at ASA post your total time and multi time. I'm most interested in the woman among you but all can chime in.
Also does everyone have Instructor time or does it really matter?

Do you have reason to believe women are offered employment with special qualifications??

They have bewbies for the Captain to look at, reason enough for me.:p

No since you asked, I don't have reason to believe that. But since a woman asked me about it, I thought I might try to get her some factual information. I should have known that some smart a** might respond. Do you have any meaningfull information to contribute or is it just a hobby to interject useless replys here?

Ok, then let's try this in a politically correct way. ( for our sensitive viewers)

Of the people who are interviewing at ASA, What is the low end time wise and does everyone have CFI time?

Thank you very much.

CFI time is good, but bewbies are better.

LMAO....sorry, I couldn't resist.

Recently most of the classes have been filled by former 121 pilots (mostly Indy Air), there was only one CFI in the last class that came from instructing. There were some low-timers that were in there also that came from FSI or EMU. From what I here the Indy pilots are leaving ASA almost as quickly as they show up because they get a better offer. Whether or not there is any truth to that I don't know.

Still the mins are 12 & 2!

Plug is right but to be exact. . .There were 23 people in the last April 4th class. A Pretty good group actually with qualified guys that met the mins 1200/100. Yes, everyyone else came from IndyAir, Chicago Express, and GreatMistakes (and some always talk about how good they had it at Indy), 4 came from flying 135 charter in jets (I don't know why they left those gigs), 2 CFI's and 2 paid for their slot doing the fast track program at FSI with 300tt hours. Everyone in the class had the mins except the two. And one is a female (had to add that). So tell your friend there is hope to be an airline pilot at ASA with 300tt and 20multi (Dun dun dun)

I met a guy the other day that was turned down by ASA. He was a former CRJ Captain with several thousand hours in the CRJ, but did not have the insane requirement of 100 hours in the last 6 months!

I guess they would rather have someone who meets the bare mins than an experienced CRJ pilot!

What a joke!

I had a phone screening with ASA about a week a half ago, anyone know how long it takes to get back if they like you?

If you have a pulse, no self respect and no need for compensation, or rest, ASA probably has a job for you provided you are 121, or 135 current. It realy does not matter if you have a CFI and I don't think race or sex matters either.

Someone heard at the job fair that ASA was looking for 1,200 and 200, but if you had less ASA would still talk to you.

I saw a guy at FSI ATL last week that was recently hired and has been furloughed for 3 years. This baffoon said that he needed to get current because he was about to be recalled. He has been sitting on his a$$ for 3 years and when he needs to learn how to fly again we can help. What a tool. I am glad ASA can help springboard him back to never-never land while we fight for a contract and get our asses handed to us, daily. I don't expect great things from those in recruiting......if you are qualified I wouldn't expect a call and if you aren't, I would.

Well I'm currently at 2100TT, 400ME, ATP. I am currently flight instructing- They called early last week and said if I was competetive they would send out an application package. Haven't heard a thing. Any guesses???

1> The same dispatcher who filed me to an airport Notam'd closed is handling the paperwork
2> The person who does this got choked by trying to lick the self adhesive stamps
3> Delta has not budgeted for stamps, so they will call you in three weeks and ask you to drive from Kangiqsualujjuaq in northern Quebec to pick up the form
4> "Quittin time"
5> ASA's on time and lost bag performance is also reflected in their prompt mailing of employment packages
6> They junior manned you for a trip, put you down as a now show and fired you, you just don't know it yet - but ASA has already told all your other prospective employers
7> It was rumored that you were the pilot who flew the banner "ASA MGMT - your Pilots demand a fair contract" over the Braves game
7> Last, but not least, ASA does not want to hire anyone dumb enough to want to work here.

Anyone else got guesses?

One thing to add that the female in the group, though she did the fast track, was also an ASA flight attendent.

Ciao

I just heard yesterday that ASA is going to lower its minimums to 500/100 because they can't fill classes. This is not flamebait, I'm serious. Apparently, they lost some 50 newhires who no-showed classes and went to ExpressJet or Comair.

Additionally, this person told me that they actually prefer to hire the low timers because they'll be around longer. ASA thinks that the high time furloughees will only use ASA until they can get a better offer or return to their previous job. So in other words, they'd rather hire a 500 hour wonder than a 4000 hour CRJ captain from FlyI.

Not to mention that the 500 hour wonderkid is going to be a lot more "pro-company" than the 4000 hour FlyI furlough who has heard all the company BS and knows it is all a load of poo...

We all know which pilot we would rather fly with on a Continuous Duty Overnight to Detroit in bad weather.

Why try to hire the best and safest, experienced, crews when it is so much easier to hire those pilots most willing to take the abuse.
