THATS IT! I might as well go to Mesa for the quick upgrade. Otherwise the only difference between me and a Mesa FO will be a long upgrade.

I don't know why everyone is getting their panties in a wad about this proposal. Did you think mismanagements first actual proposal would be something that we would want. At least now we have something to work with. There has to be a middle ground that we can all agree on. We should be happy that they have finally come to the table with a proposal. It's only been 3+ years.

I wouldn't be so sure. Managment went to the SkyWest pilots with an offer and it was rejected by the pilots. The offer is now gone.

There is no talks of increases at SkyWest Airlines.

My bet is this is JA's first, last, best, and only offer.

It's the fact that the company's history is not budging and not even discussing what they don't propose. That's the only thing I have to go on and I would bet when the CNC counters the company will fold it's arms and say that's their last, best, and final offer.

Happy NEw year

More power that we (SKYWest) did reject that worthless offer!!! Just like ASA's worthless offer. It goes to show everyone at both carriers that it is high time to shoot down the EGO trips. The management puppets (SAPA) are not worth the clothes they are wearing.

120+ Million a year at (SKYW) and concessions are all they can offer. Combined with ASA should be close to 250 MIllion a year. So when its 60 Million a year they will just create BigWEst Air owned and operated by SkyWest Inc. Entry level pay is less than a greyhound driver. Its the same thing all the Legacy's do. CONtract out their Jobs. Don't think your safe as Houses at SKYW.

A real trade won't become marketable or professional until we make it that way.

Combine the pilot lists. INhouse the representation and forget the threats of Final OFFERS. "THAT OFFER IS NOW GONE" Hell WTF is that, WE AREN'T CRYING FOR SAPAS WORTHLESS STUDENT COUNCIL. I hope a REgional or a Major will finally teach some airline a lesson.

I am with you all the way....WE HAVE TO USE ANY LEVERAGE WE HAVE TO MERGE THE LISTS!!! This would eliminate the whipsaw...at least for a while. This is what is creating all the problem. They know that many pilots feel trapped into a job and are willing to take less. It is practically unethical the way they work. Because they know that if we leave and go somewhere else, we have to start all over. And with the whipsaw threat, the growing prosperous company of today is the shriveling weed 2 years later. There is no move that is safe and secure because of this threat. WE MUST START TO ELIMINATE IT...not just for money's sake but for security!!!

The difference is that ASA is in Section 6. Skywest doesn't have a contract to negotiate.

Then he had better hire 1,800 non union pilots and get them trained up really fast. I will not work for 50% DH pay, relaxed scheduling rules, no premium and sub standard pay rates.

The Comair strike cost Delta $600,000,000.00 to $700,000,000.00. Or in another perspective $355,000.00 per pilot. ASA is bigger and arguably more cohsive given what has just been shoved in our faces. Most of us either have better paying jobs that we already work part time, or have the ability to find better paying work (although perhaps not in aviation) on short notice. Economically, the pilots have nothing to lose.

I would advise Mr. Atkin to diversify his portfolio if he holds very much SKKW stock.

Sorry, some of us have everything to lose. Its this selfish "If we can't fly X nobody can fly" crap is what’s getting on my nerves. This is why I hat alpa and Pilots unions its nothing but a group of selfish people. Tell me why the hell do I have to give 2% of my paycheck to Alpa even if I don't want to be a part of it? What ever happened to "free association"?

I'm 23 years old and my Girlfriend and I would like to get married and have a few kids, but as of right now we can't. If you "Shut this place down" chances are the whipsaw willl begin or worse we may not have a job to go back to. I don't want to have to start over every 6 months. Some of us have families or would like to start one.

Don't you understand that it is the willingness from pilots like you that ARE THE WHIPSAW. I am tired of other fellow pilots saying that we are selfish or foolish for merely wanting a liveable wage and a halfway workable QOL. We are not asking for much and if the company truely cannot afford to maintain paying us what we currently get plus cost of living increases for the life of the contract(which i believe is all the majority of pilots expect), then I don't want them in business because we don't need another MESA/CHQ. If they can afford it, they will make it work and we have nothing to worry about. At 23 years old, you have lots of life ahead of you and will have many opportunities. And if you are new, which it sounds like you are, you could pretty much supliment your income temporarily by waiting tables and flight instructing part time until you find another flying job if that is what you still want to do.

All that said, I don't think it will come to that point. Look...they make this crappy offer...we get fired up...we counter offer...etc...etc...March 3, we come up with a middle ground and the union stands up hailing there own accomplishments while the company praises themselves and talks about how gracious they are for giving what they really can't afford, but somehow maraculously finding a way to make it work....

Prophetic...we shall see?!?!

1. Did someone force you to come to ASA? Did they hold a gun to your head? ALPA was on this property before you started grade school.

2. Because the pilots that have worked over the years, that have improved the working conditions for you to work at ASA were tired of pilots not giving their fair share.

3. Great. This profession that you work in has been a brotherhood of pilots long before you and I. It's "we not me!"

If you haven't figured it out yet, the company doesn't just give you your pay raises because they like you.

Kooper,
I am in a similar posistion to you, only I have the kids already. I understand where you are coming from. My only question is where do you draw the line? Lets say we take this offer and five years down the line the industry has not improved. Do we take another deal just to have a deal? At some point you and I must decide if we can afford to be an airline pilot and have a family. I am starting to believe that you only get one go-round at a regional and if it works great. If it doesn't and you want to go back for seconds good luck. Just ask the Indy guys that are starting over again.

Well, if this is your only job, then you truly are an idiot. I would not even
think of getting married, much less having kids while I worked for ASA. I
know a lot of guys/girls do it here at ASA, but it's not the smartest thing if
you don't have a backup job or a lot of money in the bank.

Sorry, but I have nothing to lose if we shut this place down. I'm just pissed
it has taken us this long to get everyone fired up. Hopefully the next 3
months will be interesting.

It's this kind of attitude that is turning some of us off to ALPA. I have a lot to lose. If this is the attitude of ALPA, then I will have to reconsider my support. We should be making decisions based on reason, not emotion.

That new troll, aka System Chief Pilot, has bragged about getting on this board to stir things up. Just look how long these guys have been posting. Too coincedential if you ask me.

Waited 45 minutes to park the other day, with all three running........

I thought the same about those two posters last night...trolls at the very least.

Adam Kooper

Nevermind - I can't believe you are serious.

:angryfireWell, it is about time we start to get fired up around this place. This last offer ought to make every pilot here want to "Burn This Place Down!!" This is a total slap in the face. To think that we work as hard as we do and make things run, and they come at us with THIS!! Give me the ballot. I want to see JA face when 160 plus airplanes are parked!! How much money or how far in the box will we be in then? Screw them, I have had it!! Bring on the STRIKE!!
Stand Tall ASA PILOTS!! It is time to draw the line in the sand!
