Did everybody get the absolutely redundant update from managment in edocs? Are they stupid enough to think that we don't know every bit of what was in the memo?

I wish they would get some balls and just say that they want concessions rather than beating around the bush. Then we can tell them to shove it!

If the rumour is true that Jerry gave Brian an ultimatum to get the contract resolved in 90 days or else, maybe we should stall until he loses his job for not coming through.

I can't wait to hear how sh*tty the proposal was from the CNC tonight.

It's beyond sh*tty. Trust me. You are in for a good laugh. Of course the reality is that it is the companys opener....which should have come 3 years ago.

Its bad--10% paycut for 70 seater status quo on the 50 seater so yeah no cost of living increase at all since 2001,,,well nothing really has gone up---gas, houses, rent, bread, milk, insurance,........What a slap in the face

It is totally time to FLY SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and 5 year deal--does that start back from sept 2001?? and yes no raises and so no need for retro pay...=NO

ALPA call a nation wide STRIKE!!!!!!! WHAT can the companies do if we all stay home for about 3 days......HE@@ you can always file BAKRT like the companies do to get out of the fines.....

Scarlet,

Where you you hear this BS? I just read our MEC update and no mention of pay cuts.

It is not BS. He is accurate. Not to mention elimination of premium (underblock) and 1/2 pay for dead head, no retro, etc., etc., etc.

Call your reps or a P2P.

From what I hear on VARS (800-632-2847), this is completely unacceptable!
What are they thinking? Still a strike vote for me! 50% Deadhead!?? What the HE!! is that? If you are at work you get PAID to be at work! No underblock? F you! I had hopes that something was going to be good. NOT!

I listened to it and have one thing to say.....

Darn glad I went to CAL!!!!!

Totally unacceptable. Haven't had a raise in 2 years (top out on the CR200) and they propose no pay rate increase? No premium pay? DH at 1/2 your pay rate? Outside IPs? No increase in minimum days off? Dual qual on the 200&700? 8% pay cut on the 700? A NO STRIKE clause?

My vote is NO when it's time, if this is the end result. There are 5 future dates for negotiations in January and February with a deadline of March 3rd. Hopefully the company will come off this unacceptable opener, 3+ years late. In the meantime, I ain't doing no favors!

It has to stop somewhere, and you need to vote NO!!!! A lot of those items should be considered unacceptable to ALPA!!!!

Hope that it gets flushed. Looks to be time for SkyWest and ASA to merge and form their own inhouse Representation. The WhipSaw will not end here.

Thank God all you pansy-ass roll-over and lick company butt types have no say over the negotiations process. I can just picture you guys sitting there right now and thinking, "Hey this isn't so bad...."

If this was the opener they had come out with on day 1, I wouldn't be so offended. However.... it took us 3 years to get to THIS???? This is even worse than the "no net gain" propaganda they were spreading last year.

Anyone know when LeBreque's 90 days is up? I'm all for dragging my feet just to see his ass hit the door.

HAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAROTFLMAO

HE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!

Just listened to the MEC VARS and read the MEC's Connection E-mail update.

LaLiar can stick this up his a$$ as he departs the building!

I am certain that this piece of shiott wont make it out of committee let alone to the MEC and then to the pilots...

NO to anything resembling this crap!
YES to Strike Vote!
YES to the ASA MEC for doing a hell of a job!
YES to the ASA MEC CNC for doing a hell of a job!

Hey Atkin-LaLiar......MY MEC SPEAKS FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!

This is disappointing.... Lets shut her down, as soon as we have the opportunity to vote. I am most upset by the attack on our qulity of life and scope. This is completely unacceptable and guarantees that we would rather walk away from the Company than work under these conditions.

I guarantee I will find a better job. Brian LaBreque, Gary Hall, Willie and the rest of the Award of Excellence winners can not make the same statement. Here is a recap:

The Association had much anticipated this session since Management had indicated an interest in moving negotiations forward. We are sad to report that the ASA proposal lacked substance.

Management's proposal is concessionary. Over 11 years since a raise. No trip or duty rigs, no improvements in retirement or insurance.

No strike and no lockout provision with increased ability to outsource flying.

70 seat pay rates down 8%

No underblock, 50% pay for deadhead

Non senority list instructors. Less IP pay guarantee.

No protection for backside of the clock flying. Not even the current protections following CDO's.

Pilots to be "dual qualified" on the 200 & 700's

Preferential bidding system to be implemented.

Progress made on electronic access to data and getting leave for ALPA duties.

We demand a strike vote. We demand to be released and I'm not entirely sure the MEC and ALPA can keep us from going wildcat before then.

I just read the ALPA web board, BS. That is all I can say. MEC 800 has had a busy signal for the last hour. Vote to Walk.

Holy cow. This should be made required listening for every pilot on the senority list.

It's almost comical that it has gone to this point. I'd like to wait out the 90 days and see what happens if it's truly BL's ass on the line.

If you forget the number it is easy to remember:

800-MEC-ATIS

Brian LaGagme's day are now numbered!

I think it's time for our CNC to start wasting the companys time. After all it's ALPA'a fault we don't have contract, we want the moon.

Hey LaGagme go sit on your cost box!

CYA Brian!

What do you guys currently get for deadheading?

WOW!!! This is amazing! Its worse now than it has been over the past year or so with all the zero net gain B.S.

Here are some takes, IMHO. Skywest is behind this 'offer.' Obviously, they feel they need to lower the cost of ASA to 'afford' the new Delta agreement that Skywest made in purchasing ASA. It is possible that the rate Delta agreed to pay ASA/SKW per departure is much lower than the past, and that they need to keep their profits up by taking it out of our pockets! It is not my problem what SKW agreed to provide lift for Delta at such a rate.

Our problem, as employees is that we are sort of being painted into a corner. Balk at managements demand and we probably lose our jobs, or a lot of them. Look at the situation Comair and Mesaba is in, and express jet will soon find themselves in! It looks like mainline partners are pushing our rates and workrules down by continuing to go to the lowest bidder. If we at ASA stand strong and push for what is right, we will be on the street; as Mesa and CHQ/Rep/SA and whoever else they are swarm in. And dont forget other companies like Colgan Air who may look for cheap growth.

Bottom line, the job is not worth it anymore. I am going on 4 years at ASA, with nearly 3 at another airline and I have NEVER made $40,000 in 7 years in the airlines! I know, my fault, but I kept hoping things would get better....but they never do. But no matter what we do, someone is cheaper. They will get the future growth no matter what we at ASA decide to do. We are damned either way, and if they offer bigger airplanes, they will want us to fly them at the same rates we have now ---------- so who cares!

My prediction is that within the next decade, Mesa and CHQ (etc) will be the ONLY regional carriers! This may come after buying up some of the others, but that may be it................

For me, I say we stand up for what we are worth as professionals, and what the profession is worth. To steal a line from some majors in the past....'Max pay 'till the last day'.

Many of you have said it so well. Just a few years ago I could have never imagined myself saying this. I was the biggest proponent AGAINST a strike. But with this "offer" I say SHUT THEM DOWN. If what they say is true and this is all that they can afford, they don't need to be in business anymore and I am will to attempt to call the bluff.

In addition, we need to start looking at scope. We need, at a very minimum to start looking at protecting what we already have at ASA in terms of flying. There is no doubt in my mind that ASA MGMT would give to avoid a strike, only to shift flying over to SKYWEST (this is assuming that they are cheaper, which i don't think that they are.)

The reason they are going after 70 st pay is that is where the future growth will be.

This isn't personal, its business. But we don't need another mesa or CHQ in the industry and if we give in here that is exactly what we would be. I would rather see the company go down in flames than become another MESA. Besides, you would be surprised how creative mgmt would get in cutting costs when they realize they have to look somewhere other than its employees. Who the heck will hire LaBra after he has run one airline into the ground. If its possible, they will find a way to make things work. If it isn't possible, they don't need to be in business anymore!!!!

Just my take. VOTE STRIKE!!! DONT GIVE IN TO THIS CRAP!!!!!!!!!
