Anyone got the link to the employee survey?

Sweet, so it's up from last year.

It was the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners instead of cookies.

That's OK. Charlie Tutt is going to save our operation and bring back employee morale.

Does this ex-marine, deltoid have even the vaguest idea what he is getting into?

C Tutt is in for a rude awakening once he sees how the GO opertates !

Hopefully he can bust a few heads over there and solve some of the problems in operations that were neglected by that idiot Drew Bedson. There are quite a few mgmt morons who are collecting checks and doing nothing else.

I will remain optimistic until the company further demoralizes me. Should take all of a day or two.

He was on management's team when they got $1 billion a year from the pilots. He was incharge of the Delta pilots as a group for a long time. I think he can handle ASA, and I think he knows what he has to do. Good luck.

General:

Why change anything? ASA wants to be a pilot mill where guys get 1,000 PIC and move out. Pilots that stick around gain longevity and that costs money.

ASA Crew Scheduling and ALPA National done more to organize the upcoming strike than money, or our local ALPA leadership, could have ever done. The strike will get two, possibly three, birds with one stone.

C.T. was incharge of getting concessions. He got them. He also wanted a "tight ship." No wonder Kolschak chose him. They were both Marines.

General,

You say he can "handle" ASA? It's not just the pilot group, there is a whole institution of incompetance, lethargy, and "that's not my job," both at the GO and on the ramp. If he thinks he is just going to come in and bark orders--like a good little Marine, he will be rudely surprised.

This is a guy who apparently went from the Marines, direct to DAL (gotta help them squadron buddies), and has never had to work in the trenches of the airline indsutry.

If he want's to be an a$$hole, that will only push us that much closer to a strike. You DAL boys had M-U-C-H more to lose than we do, if he wants to be a dick, BRING IT ON, it will only help with pilot unity.

I think you should call him up and tell him that. He has "orders" and he will complete the mission.

Guys - only some parts of the ASA operation are dorked. Other parts work pretty well. The ramp works about as hard and efficiently as is possible with the money they are willing to spend on payroll. ASA does a pretty darn good job of being on time given the ATC delays and the complexities of flying short haul feeder flights into the World's busiest airport. Maintenance and Training also works pretty well at ASA.

Crew Planning and Crew Scheduling absolutely are horrible, but staffing needs change with every phone call from Delta.

I doubt another white guy with a neck tie can do much for our operation. What we need is to take that salary and hire more of the folks that acutally produce something, like rampers, mechanics & pilots.

Maybe, but he'll need a case of Rolaids and Tums. We pesky litte RJ drivers, in our toy jets, can be a pain in the a$$ when we want to be.....

....and I feel like being a pain in the a$$.

You should be hoping Tutt can make peace at ASA. A strike by us would mean disaster for you DAL Prima Dona's.

Again, we have very little to lose. Can you say the same thing Captain? How much money do you think you will earn in the right seat of a King Air?

Tutt won't be able to do a darn thing to fix ASA. The cancer has taken over the whole body! Until Skippy, Chuckels, and Brian are gone, nothing is going to get fixed! Any one who has been in CVG over the last two weeks knows that the cancer is creeping into A concourse in CVG.

They keep changing middle mgmt, it's time to change TOP mgmt! Comair is a fine tuned machine. A hicup on Christmas day caused the president of Comair to be fired. With all the problems we have at ASA, I don't know how these BOZOS are able to keep their jobs.

just my two cents

I think we can agree it was a wise choice to bring someone from the outside into this postion instead of promoting one of the typical inbread mgmt types we currently have.

I say give the guy a chance and let it go from there. He either sinks or swims based on his future decisions.

I don't work for Delta. I have zero interest in flying in a King Air or any other airplane after I retire in 2 months and 3 weeks (at age 57). I plan on having nothing at all to do with aviation after that point.

FWIW, I do hope Tutt (whoever that is) can make peace at ASA. Everyone deserves a little peace.

Congratulations on retiring, and good luck. You are escaping at a good time.

Well someone better do something fast, because I am getting ready for a nice vacation when we all STRIKE!! Screw EM! I am sick and tired of hearing about this "cost neutral" contract. They can have it just like they give it...grab their ankles and prepare to be FI$TED with Sandpaper!"
Comair Plus....Sounds like something of old...."United Plus..."
Great minds think alike!

I have check book ready and will write you one every month for the duration! And that in addition to the asessment!;)

This new selection doesn't mean a thing to the ASA pilots. Every prior VP Flt Ops was a thorn in the ASA pilot's side. They may a have job to do, but in the past they went out of their way to piss off the ASA pilots at the direction of UPPER MANAGEMENT. We expect the same with this selection.

It's been this way since the beginning of ASA with G&J, and unfortunately appears that it will remain this way. Upper management just doesn't get it. Continue to piss us off with scheduling abuses and watch what happens. And it may begin to happen soon I'm afraid as the ASA pilots have had enough.

Looks like ASA is trying to get a "pilot friendly" middle management. Nice trick but it won't work. Yes the cancer will creep down to them like the others. I think Delta is trying to make us look more attractive so they can sell, and generate cash to hold off Bankruptcy. I can deal with Skippy, but CT needs to go. If I saw him stranded on the side of the road, I would whip his a$$ with my bid packet.

Is CVG going crappy for others? Not one of my flights left within 15min on time due to aircraft swaps and gate changes from A24 to A6. I am not blaming Comair,as the swaps I believe come from ATL. I was happy to get back to ATL where I was parked on time but at E29. Is the musical plane routine normal or has the free ASA health plan kicked in at CVG?

8% seems kind of high for ASA management. Did they classify 8% of the employees as management for the poll?

>>>>I think you should call him up and tell him that. He has "orders" and he will complete the mission.<<<<<

I think the General is right on here about 'orders'! Delta has seen what happened at CMR giving in on concessions, and now will try with the ASA pilots to do the same. Should be interesting. I hope BA (MEC Chair) lets him have it at their meeting tomorrow. With the new Chief Pilot (supposedly a nice guy) and this hardass from Delta, we'll see soon enough what''s going to happen. It didn't take long at all with whatshisname at CMR to change things there.

I say NO to any concessions at ASA and will send my thoughts to our MEC!

Darn, I didn't participate in the survey as it never changes anything. And you can slam for me for not participating but I've been here at ASA a long time and NOTHING has ever changed, from the G&J days to now! Imagine what the number would look like if people like me would have participate! Oh well.....
