Check your box or flica account for another letter. This time we need to resolve this contract ASAP. If we don't, we could lose more airplanes!!!!

Hi there, welcome to the table! You've stalled this thing for YEARS and admitted it. And we're supposed to sign something so we can get our grubby hands on a few airplanes? That's out of the Comair Concession Playbook (CCP), and we know how that worked out.

He's 100% correct. An increase on the 50 and a decrease on the 70 back to normal industry averages would be very wise. I just hope people realize this.

WTF Charles, Do you not get the picture. We don't care any more. You take a pay cut. You find other ways to save your 3.5 mil. You make the decisions I will fly my ATR and will vote in a contract that compensates me and my fellow pilots fairly. Now do you get the picture. PS tell Brian he can kiss my A$$!
Kooter you can also.

What part of : PILOTS DONT BUY AIRPLANES, NOR DO THEY GET TO PICK WHAT AIRLINE OR BASE THE AIRPLANES GO TO..... does our managment and koolaid drinkers at ASA not understand?

All you should care about as an ASA pilot is flying your machine safely, efficiently, and as by the book as possble. Pass your check ride, get your medical, go home take care of your family, if you dont have one, try to meet someone (preferably of the opposite sex) and try to start one...

Support your Union negotiators because you are nothing but one little voice without them. If you dont want to support your union negotiators you have every right to your opinion, and you have every right to vote no on the proposed strike ballot.. You can also vote yes to the proposed TA'ed concessionary contract.

But please under no circumstance let Charlie Tutt, or Ly'n Bryan's threats that "PILOTS CONTROL OUR GROWTH AND SURVIVAL" scare you.....

YOU CONTROL AN AIRPLANE UNDER A CONTRACT WITH ASA... THAT IS ALL... MANAGMENT DOES ALL THE REST

They havn't offered the profit sharing to the pilots like he has said. There was nothing in their proposal about it. I am tired of them pissing on me and telling me it's raining.

He is not addressing anything else but the 70 and IP pay cause he knows the other stuff they are not including or taking out will incite more anger.

I wanna know when Jerry is gonna step up and lock the two sides in a room until it gets done? This is what what he said he would be willing to do at his lounge meetings. F the mediator, get to negotiating or shut the F up. And that goes for both sides.

Even if they TA something tomorrow it would take 1 to 2 months to road show it and get the vote done. Some don't tell me we have weeks cause it's gonna take months at the earliest.

Me thinks BL and CT are feeling the heat! Ignore the threats. Fly safe, and back your MEC and Negotiators!

Yep - like scope. I'm not going to "guarantee my job security" by being the lowest cost pilot on this planet. Agreeing to a contract without scope that binds the holding company only means that the Skywest pilots and us will continue to be whipsawed.

We pay for FLICA and should be able to control its content. Any way to turn off any spam from Chuck Tutt?

Hey Charley, many of the pilots at Delta (mainline) have stated recently that you're a pain in the rectum. That you cannot be trusted. That you screwed pilots at Delta. And, regarding those 900s we "lost", and as you stated , ones we will "lose" if the contract's not done in a few weeks: SKYW Inc makes the decision where to put them. We fly whatever SKYW Inc puts here in ATL. We're just pilots, so your threats are hollow and meaningless.

What really chaps my ass is listening to Jerry Atkin talking/bragging at the Merril Lynch Global Transportation Conference today about how when we bid for new flying, Skywest Holdings (ASA/SkyWest combined) has the lowest cost of everybody in the industry. Take a listen to the webcast, he says it 3 seperate times. If we are the cheapest...why do we need to take concessions? Also, f we're trying to control costs, why the heck is BL getting over $800,000 of stock??? What has he done? He's accomplished nothing.

Webcast can be found here...registration is free and easy

What scope language do you want Fins? Give us an example of scope language that is not exclusionary, but that also limits managements ability to outsource the work.

The same scope that you and your pals are suiing to eliminate?
You speak out of both sides of your mouth young man!

No, but I am a pilot from your same holding company and I think we should be informed, so we can help?

Or at-least sum up the letter for us?

The ASA pilots are not competitive. More of the same BS from Letter #1. Company brainwash sessions coming up. I encourage no ASA pilots go. If you do, ask why BL just got those stock options, and how does that make ASA more competitive.

"All Delta flying done by Delta pilots" would have been a start, but when we tried to promote that at the 2000 BOD, your MEC quashed it.

At ASA we are looking to at least provide contractual protections for our pilots when our airplanes get transferred. Depending on which numbers you count, SkyWest has taken the CRJ-700's on order at ASA and the airplanes already in SLC. That is 17, or 23 airplanes so far, depending on whether you count ASA's firm orders prior to the purchase. Skywest is training 40 pilots a month to replace us off our senior airplane, out of our senior base.

If Delta were to outright transfer the entire 737 fleet to ASA you guys would be going nuts. We have suffered a much worse loss on a percentage basis and you are here to poke at our efforts to establish some scope so we can work on improving the profession - however you are giddy about the jobs going to a non union carrier.

What a fine pair you two are....

At this point I believe that many of you are so emotionally wired that it really wouldn’t matter what CT said or did any more. He could grant all of ALPAs requests and there would still be somebody out there pissed because some issue they wanted wasn’t included. These are negotiations, some are going to be happy and some are going to get hurt on both sides, that’s life.

You are absolutely right, airmen neither buy nor position a/c, management does. They do this based on a negotiated rate from a mainline carrier. Our block hour wage plays a big part in how and what our management has to deal with. If our costs are not in line with industry, how can we compete?
Yes, I have read the note on the door. If you can tell me exactly how those rates are calculated and on a level playing field, I will concede.

Don’t take my word for it, Look for the company’s latest proposal when it is posted. Participate in the meeting with CT and during the ALPA call-in to get the information first hand, voice your concerns to both groups and base your decision on that and not emotion.

No GO kool-aid No ALPA Soda
Simply Reality …

Let ALPA work it out, thats what you pay them 2% for right!;)

(i only say this because I have a 5 year alpa pin and they haven't done anything for me either)

but in all honestly there is nothing you can do but voice your concerns to you MEC and let them decide what is best for your pilot group.

Your hands are tied... good luck.

The contract with DAL has already been negotiated. ASA and SKW will get the flying that has been contracted. Our pay, whether it goes up or down, will only affect how much profit the company makes. And yes, it is true that there is a provision that we have to be the 2nd lowest cost in 5 years or so (would like to meet the genius that signed off on that). What the company isn't telling you is that if we are not the 2nd lowest cost, SKW still has first right of refusal. IOW, if we are not the 2nd lowest, they have the right to match whoever is before they would lose the flying. So, lets say that the 2nd lowest crew cost is $90/hour, and we are $95/hour. They would just take the extra $5 out of those record profits to match the deal and keep the flying.

And as far as the costs being on a level playing field, if you are talking about the numbers I think you are those are the ones reported to DOT, and they have to be put in a specific format. If they were not standard then each company could just report whatever it wanted to make their numbers look however they wanted.

If you work for ASA they negotiated what you have now, which is MUCH better than you would have had with the last contract.

I'll take your word the ROR as I haven't seen it. That would be a great way to protect the DL contract. However, we also need to be able to compete in other markets with other carriers as well. To have all of your feed to one carrier is not good.
The reason I ask for the exact calculation is I want to know what all gets factored into the number? Does fleet size and usasge play a role? How about actual block hours flown? These numbers vary widely from carrier to carrier, so on its face that data doesn't say a whole lot unless you can reduce these differences to zero and put them all on a balanced field, which you can't.

;)Well ATL, it would seem that if they would stop moving airplanes from us to skywst, then our costs would continue to drop. i.e more seats
However, if they keep taking airplanes, the costs get higher....right! That is why I think it funny that CT tells us to hurry and settle to keep airplanes coming...WHY, because they are going to LOAD us UP with 700's and 705's just as quick as they can. If we are so expensive on the 70, then send us all of skywsts 50's. We are cheaper there also, but why don't they.....because our hourly rate makes no difference to them. It is but a VERY SMALL part of the equation. They are just trying to take advantage of the situation in the industry...which by the way has not hurt us one bit, it has actually increased our profits by more then tenfold in most cases. We are not asking for Big D pay by any means....Yes, I know that the union numbers were high...(NOT REALLY) but they will meet somewhere in the middle if they(the Company) know's what's good for them! I am sick and tired of all this doom and gloom when we have done NOTHING but make HUGE MONEY. BL getting 800,000 in stock.....Yeaaaaahhhhhh! Because he has done such a fabulous job.....RIIIIIIIGHT!! Time to take the gloves OFF!!!:uzi:

ATL, I think that the company said that the Union proposal would cost them an extra 3.5 million a year. I'm not sure about that, but I seem to remember that number being bandied about at some point. Now, BL just got almost 1 million in stock and options. Do you not see anything wrong with this? Carty was forced to resign from AA for taking hugh bonuses while asking the pilots for concessions. But it's OK for ASA to do the same thing???? If you are going to ask ANY employee group for pay concessions, even if it is 1 cent/hour, then management better be sharing it with them. Not in our case, they are asking me to give up my money so BL can make a bigger bonus. I don't think so. ATL, do you REALLY not see something really wrong with this?

Anymore? Are you kidding me. We have never believed anything he has said. The book on him was provided by the Delta pilots when he came over here. You know, just look at how they have violated our current agreement, and the great number of grievances filed against the company. CT is tasked with bending the pilots over, much as Buttrell was at CMR. If he succeeds, he in for a big bonus, maybe even 800,000 in stock like Brian got. Trouble is, he ain't gonna succeed with this pilot group. Now, get back to your GO cubicle, and do something productive other than post on flightinfo.

Charlie was not happy at the meeting Wed. BL thinks he can sweet talk the pilots into signing the contract.
