Looks like we had a pretty good turnout!
Good turnout???
Recalculate ace. Piss poor in my book.
Sorry for you guys on the losing end. Maybe you should have tried harder to get the word out.

Maybe BoyToy will now STFU and she can go back into hibernation for the remainder of the winter.
Nope. Joey's posting for KC now on the ALPA board. You have to say he is one persistent little rascal! Always something with him. Like KC has any credibility with the ASA pilots! He's as useless as JB & LJ!
Voted for The No Pilot Left Behind Group!
Ask about the grievance that every nap/reserve pilot has wanted for trading naps and being punished by payroll, but if sch. changes your nap or reserve day on a relief line, then you get nothing on top of 75.00 hours. Talk to these guys and they say--oh that is not worth griev. process. Well ask about 300-400 pilots that have flown naps in the last few years. Worthless !!!
While 46% seems like it sucks on the surface, the truth of the matter is that ASA has never had a turnout higher than about 15% for an LEC election. 46% is dang good. Considering the U.S. only gets about 55% turnout for presidential elections I'd say it's not too shabby.
The pilots knew what was at stake and they voted accordingly by a margin of 2.5 to 1. Sorry for you guys on the losing end. Maybe you should have tried harder to get the word out.
My post is not about who got elected, it is about engagement. A <50% turnout still means that more than half of the pilots are not engaged, and, that is a tragedy. ASA and its ALPA group will continue to have infighting and will never be perceived as a unified front by management when this few vote in the election that determines where the union will be going.
This vote invalidates a previously strong strike vote simply because of its lack of participation.

Apathy usually indicates support for the status quo. The fact that half of the pilots didn't vote is a pretty good indication that they support Newie and friends. If they were dissatisfied with the way the MEC and NC have handled things, then they would have taken the time to vote for the Jackson-Brieling Coalition.

Riiiigggghhhhttttttttt!!!!!! Reaching in your wallet and getting your ALPA card out is such a major project for most of our Chuck Yeagers around this place.
why have we all not gotten an e-mail?
In addition, in this fast paced world, it is extremely burdonsome to log on to the another webpage and vote. It might take too much time away from FI.
Or.. in the ATL airport.. there just aren't enough pay phones. I mean, how many pay phones does an ALPA pilot have to pass before he will pick one up and dial a toll FREE number and vote. What is 30 secs spent in the name of democracy...?
Or even better, when you are standing in line getting your fast food why not make a fast call on your cellphone. You could even wait for the weekend or nights so it doesn't effect your "regular minutes" Before you know it, you can particpate in democracy, actually have a say in your leadership and career and all before you supersize!!
I know, I know... that isn't it...
