Just wondering if any fellow ASA people can tell me where to find info on the leather uniform jacket. (Where to get it, how much $$, how to get the name plate, etc.) I have a few days off and I won't be going anywhere near the airport so I figured I might try to get a little info here.

Thanks!

I am not ASA...

I got mine in just over 4 weeks, they told me they are a little slow this time of year... For your .02... I paid $366 with shipping, epaulets and name tag.

I called them directly and they took the order over the phone, money is due before shipping.

Again I am not ASA and you may have specific requirements that I/we did not.

Do not order from the web site as you do get a "special" price...

All you have to do is tell them your size, rank, and employee number and they will send you the jacket, name tag and shoulder rank (cant spell epoullets). The inside of the jacket will come with a large ASA, DCI embroidery. I ordered an extra ALPA emblem for my name tag when I got the jacket. Email me if you have any more questions. Tim. P.S. Dont get the winter liner as you wont need it. The regular jacket is thick enough.

That was fast! Thanks a lot guys, I'll look into it. Hopefully it won't take too long to get the jacket. I don't know how many more 20 degree days I can take and if I keep doing the walkaround in 10 seconds flat I'm bound to miss something one of these days!

Thanks again.

P.S. Is there a standard type of jacket for ASA? Metro's web address shows gloss and matte black goatskin as well as lambskin and calfskin.

Use caution. ASA management has been very picky about uniforms lately. Walk in front of a chief pilot with a non-standard leather jacket, and you might have an unpleasant couple of minutes...depending on your level of sensetivity to such things.

These are often called Captains Jackets...since most F/O's can't afford them. (Know the difference between a newhire F/O and a fourteen inch pizza? A fourteen inch pizza can feed a family of four...)

When the CPO places the order for you, it automatically gets you the correct finsih/material.

FWIW, when I ordered mine, it took about 3 weeks for delivery.

The new wings took 9 days.

And I agree, don't bother with the winter liner.

On the web - just search Perrone Leather. Their turn around time and service is awful right now. I have been waiting over 6 weeks for new epaulets. Every time I call - "it was shipped UPS yesterday..." It is cold and I sure wish they would get the name patch and epaulets out.

It is so bad I have considered taking down their sign and information from the crew lounge and replacing it with a sign that they have gone out of business.

Anyone know another source for this stuff?
