350DRIVER

Just got off the phone with a F/A from ASA and she mentioned something about the ASA flight that aborted once in ATL on friday that returned to the gate after hearing a "bang" on the roll, mx checked things over and said they were "ok", push back again, t-o- attempt #2, through V1 the same "bang" observed from the flight deck, they declare emerg. swing back around and land. Supposebly a "light show" showered sparks throughout as seen by ground workers..

anyone know what happened?

Darnit, I was heading back here to delete that before someone else pasted it. Sorry for the irrelevant personal jab, 350. I should have saved it for the political threads.

GE must be furious, they are desperate for ETOPS certification on these engines. As it is we are lucky to be able to fly over Lake Lanier.

A crew fried an engine a few weeks ago going into BTR, (not their fault), now this. I'm sure some GE program manager is feeling the heat.

I spoke with the fo the next day in ops. It was a compressor stall - CR7. It was 1:30 am in ATL.
Thanks Jen,

I guess it was quite a show of sparks for those on the ground as well as hearing the loud bang.

appreciate the information
