Just posted on ourasa.com:

You can expect a vacancy/displacement bid to come out this week, as early as tomorrow. We have decided that a Detroit domicile is necessary and the planned effective date is June 1.

We are planning for the base to be staffed with 56 crews and as of today I see no increase in that number for the remainder of 2011 unless the strategy were to change for the DCI flying from DCA or there were a huge swing in flying to DTW from another hub. This does not mean there will be reduction of 56 crews from the ATL CRJ700/900 base.

We have added CRJ700s to our fleet recently so we will be increasing the overall number of CRJ700/900 Captains and First Officers by about 24 to the current number of CRJ700/900 crews. A reduction in ATL CRJ200 Captains and First Officers will more than likely be a part of this overall bid.

I have received a lot of emails about the recent March pairings, what I think the CRJ200 pairings will look like going forward and should "I" bid to the CRJ700/900 to get better trips?? All good questions and you can expect more information that you can use to make your decision on this upcoming bid.

Exciting times for us and things wont be static.
Scott

Gonna be interesting how this all works out. It's not as bad as speculated being that it's less than the 90 that was floating around. There will still be some displacments I guess. Now we get to see how senior/junior the 24 spots will go (assuming they are for DTW).

Do they have to do 56 vaccancies for DTW first to allow all to bid based on seniority or could they do the 24 upgrade vac's for DTW(assuming it's for DTW) then backfill with junior 200 guys? Guess that will be answered with the vaccancy this week.

It'll result in vacancies in IAD also. Of course they always seem to forget about impacts IAD.

That's interesting, this should be fun to watch as it plays out.

Please pull up to the zipper road. You'll block the taxiway otherwise.

Welcome to the D.

I once saw a train derail and spill Ford trucks all over. A real train wreck, that was fun to see. My guess this type of fun will fall in that category.

Well, I was hoping we would get a base again that started with a D and ended with a W. I just didnt want that danged ole T in the middle.
Oh well... :/

I've heard some PNCL guys say the DFW-DTW commute is a b!tch. Assuming your a DFW guy, think a lot of those guys that still commute from DFW will try and jump to DTW?

This has got to be a move to replace the XJ CR9s that are slated to go to JFK this spring/summer. I guess we know it'll be 8 of them now.

I dont think too many of us will go. There's only 5 flights a day and all but 1 are RJ's. I'm sure AA has a few too. Many more options going into ATL.

I think I would only do DTW if it went super jr.

Welcome to the DTW Delta Connection Orgy. And yes the DFW-DTW commute is a very difficult one.

Phone this one in folks...we know how this is gonna play out. Just like IAD; the forgotten red-headed stepchild. Low staffing, p*ss poor maintenance and more deadheads back and forth to cover the clusterf*ck, exactly the same as what we're doing now. We can't support any base we open (and subsequently close). LAX? IAD? C'mon what a joke. This isn't about upgrades, downgrades, or whatever, this is about management (up to, but not including ours) spreading all its cards so thin, making money off the backs of its employees so all we get is a Thanks for all you do. As T.O. said...."Getcha popcorn ready" Stay professional crews, I hope we (or anyone) don't put one in the dirt from all the cards stacked against us.

Where did you hear this one? I agree XJ's CR9's are the next to be yanked around the Delta system, and will happen soon after the TA is ratified this week if I had to guess.

How much money do the regionals lose playing musical chairs in the Delta system??

It's been a frequent rumor that the reason why 9E management needed a contract so bad was so they could move the 900s to JFK. This is part of Delta's "First Class Seating in JFK" plan.

The problem was we didn't know how many would go. I'm making a guess that it's the same number that ASA is moving in.

Hurry up and vote "yes" on this TA.....Anderson and Uncle Phil need to get things moving and get those 900's to the east coast......

Well at least the reductions on the 200 side should make them create pairings with higher block. Question is where are they going to go unless this DTW flying is mostly added flying. We aren’t getting rid of 200 airframes so for me this is proof of another negative affect of PBS.

We can’t be surprised because we were told that we would need 10% less people with PBS. So instead of growth and movement we have displacements. Enjoy.
