Havent heard anything either.....kind of pissed that they are hiring with all of us in the pool.

Maybe they want to keep the pool the same size? Remember, if you want you can always climb out of the pool... Your co-poolers would like it.

If you're so worried about them not contacting you, why don't you contact them? There has been a regime change, so it is possible that you slipped through the cracks.

They're pulling people out of the pool based on total time. Many people who interviewed in Nov. already have class dates. The orders from the training department is to train the most experienced pilots first.

If that's true, it's a big departure from the way things used to be.

Then don't go to ASA. It's that easy!

I guess their is a misunderstanding or I should of used a different word other than "pissed"....I said that because I REALLY WANT TO WORK FOR ASA and really hope I get a call. I interviewed at 4 other airlines and was impressed the most with ASA. I just want to be there is all.

Then call Danny Robertson at 404-766-1400 and ask him.

Speaking of phone calls, I got the phone screening about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything. Should I take that as a "thanks but no thanks?"

The instructors are going back to instructing, I'm hearing 3 newhire classes being scheduled. Don't know the size.

Get used to being "kind of pissed" at ASA.:puke:

Not true. Everyone is rated in the pool based on performance during the interview. The class that started on the 27th has 16 people, 7 of which are interns that had very, very low time. There will be three classes after this and they said the classes will go to 20 per class.
They also said that the bid for CAL flying was in and they were confident about it and they will find out in two weeks.

I was told they're giving priority to people with higher time, interns, and those with prior jet training (FSI, ATP?).

OK, I've been in recurrent for that past few days and this is what we were told: (from Dan Robertson)

They do have a class of 16 that started this past Monday (3/27). They are doing three more classes of 20-24 starting every other week.

Dan came into class today telling us if we knew anyone that wanted a job, that we could put in a recommendation. As far as how they are pulling people out of the pool, he did not mention anything about that. I do know that the sixth most senior person in the class that just started is 23 years old (it's based on age here, FYI).

Hope the info helps out.... good luck.

It must not take very much to impress you.

just got the call today for the class on 4/10. Thanks to all for all the input and help over the last few months.

Me too! I'll be there on 4/10 as well.

Good luck guys with you new hire training, I dont know why people like IFlyFL410 are so down on ASA. As long as you expectations are realistic you will be happy. People seem to forget that they came to work here by choice, knowing full well what the pay rates and life style of a regional pilot were. It is not ASA’s fault that 9/11 came along, that the majors are no longer going let us make millions and millions when they are loosing billions. I know some will say but ASA/Skywest reported 82% increase in profit and that they are doing great. Problem is that ASM and revenue were up 130%, revenue up 130 but profit only up 80 is a loss of margin not a positive thing. Do we need a pay cut I don’t know but a 18% raise just because we can no longer expect to me at a major in the time we planned. After 4 years I am not sitting in the left seat trying to figure how much longer it will be before my class date at delta as was the original plan. I am however flying a jet across the country making 40k a year to work 12 to 15 days a month making the exact amount per hour that I was told I would be making after 4 years when I started. Beats the hell out of instructing. It is a main line job no. Is it perfect no but no job is and in what other kind of job can you make money to sit on you ass all day and fly a 15million dollar toy around with no real boss or office to deal with?

He has a point, don't get bitter. But for the love of God realize your own self worth. Blue Collar mentality doesn't describe what you just said. Christ, just because I agreed to the work rules when I started I don't have the right to want an improvement? I think I just threw up in my mouth. All the FA's are smokin hot, the uniforms are really cool, you hardly ever work, and the overnights are a raging party every time. Sure beats the office! Good luck in class guys, it still is a really fun job. I'm not quiting just yet. But realize you deserve better than what your signing on for and don't get too wrapped up in all of the drama at work. Never would have been the job it used to be if pilots all thought like EMB.
