ASA just called for the April 12th class...make sure you have your phones with you if you're hoping for a class date. If they can't get a hold of you, they will skip you and go to the next person...happened to me for the march 15th class. Good luck.

Congrats on the class date.

Would you care to tell us your aviation backgrounds?

Also, I have heard rumors of approximately 20 per class.

ASA ?'s

Anyone know how many guys/gals are in the pool right now and how many people they are interviewing per month? Also there seem to be some questions about the pool once you do get the nod. Some say it is based on your total time and other say it is based on your hire date. What determines who they select to start class once your in the pool?

:D

Whoever answers the phone is in. You don't answer, they go to the next name on the list until the class is full.

They told us that they will call depending on experience, not interview date. They also said that your are not hired until the first day of class.

They did say experience first, but with caveats. They don't want a class full of furloughees, but rather a mix of experience. And it was mentioned that they prefer background checks to be complete before offering you a class as well.

I am waiting on a class date too. I know that some pilots I interviewed with are in the Apr 12 class, and I think they have a little less flight time than me - so who knows?

Only reason I brought it up was ASA sent me an app packet this week. If I was to interview and get the nod, it sounds like I would never get called to start class with only 1350tt. I would most likely be one of the low guys on the totem pole.

Don't worry I was interviewd and called for the April 12th class and I have 1300 hours. I interviewd in Feb.

If only I was so lucky to have interviewed and put in a class two months after the interview. I interviewed back in November 2002! Fortunately I also had an offer from another 121 carrier to fly the 1900 around and kill some time before ASA called.

I'd guess they've filled the class by now. Anyone know for sure? Should I continue to be housebound tomorrow?

Thanks

In the know

I am assuming that since some of you who repsonded to this thread have been through the interview process at ASA so I am hoping you can answer a question.

I just got a call from ASA. They asked a few questions and I think I answered them all correctly. No tickets, DUIs, accidents, I am currently flying a jet etc. etc. The girl said that the phone interview would be evaluated and that if they were still interested they would send me an app.

Are they likely to send me an app, or is this something they do for every resume they get? Any insight into the process would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.
