Been hearing alot of merger buzz as well. As I've heard it, it won't be an asset transfer, but will include pilots as well as equipment. I don't know how soon this will be announced, but I'm thinking more toward the end of the month. I have no clue who we will be merging with though.

As far as Mesa- it is my understanding we have opted to wait until they liquidate before buying their assets. Apparently, we were in deep negotiations to purchase 700s and 900s from Mesa to commence additional flying. However, at the last minute, Atkin backed out due to Ornstein not letting go of the equipment without also sending over the pilots. Apprently, Ornstein wanted to cut the most expensive group of pilots from his seniority list, leaving nothing but the cheaper labor such that he could emerge from bankruptcy leaner, stronger, and cheaper in order to nip at the heels of the competition. Atkin pretty much told Ornstien no way, and we'll pick up the pieces from them later...............

This is just pure rumor from a source I know. Could be something to it, maybe not. I guess time will ultimately tell. Something is definately happening though................

I can't figure out why express jet though...............

We're spending a bunch of money on an airline with antiquated, little desired 50 seaters? The 50 seat market is about as bright as a black hole. About the only thing I can figure is some sort of lock in with Continental if the United deal goes through. The airframes aren't even compatible. Why up the cost like that???? I just don't get it. I suppose wierder things have happened, but who knows. I just don't see how Express Jet would mesh.

kind of off subject but I've heard of this "white dragon" (or something along those lines) lady who works at ASA. Is she an FO? I saw an FO the other day in ATL that looked pretty mean.... had to be in her mid to late 50's. I walked by her in the terminal and she just glared at me. Hell, it kinda scared me! Looked like a damn witch. But she was definetly an FO and had brown hair, kinda of a hunch back, and on the short side... Anyone know who I'm talikng about?

Not the same person. I don't recognize the description of the person you're describing, either. The W.D. is still a captain, BTW.

Never flown with her, just hear the stories.
