ASA ATRs Going going Gone???

We've all heard the rumors about the ATRs being all gone in Oct this year...even heard as early as August now. WELL, here is some possible propaganda. We flew 635 the other day...came out of C check 1/05 with a new BOW and all...BUT, no new EGPWS. Could be nothing. Perhaps they expect them to go soon and the new operator will float the cost of outfitting the remaining fleet...minus the PEC fleet of course.

The rumor that I have heard was that Mountain Air was talking about taking over the leases. Today flying into CHA I saw an ex CALEX ATR-42 on Mountain Air's ramp. That leads me to believe that maybe the rumors have more substance than most.

We flew in there probably 6 weeks ago when they had just received one of the old CoEx ATR-42's. There was close to 10 people on the ramp looking at it and when we taxied by all their heads snapped towards us. Maybe they saw something they liked?

Mountain & Empire are getting the ATRs out of the desert from CoEx and Eagle, but we haven't heard or seen anything about ASA aircraft. Also, Mountain is the only FX Feeder with the -72s right now.
