And cheers to the cards and another season, can't wait to try out the new champions club!!!!
It's like a Sandals at the ballpark

Heh... I'll have to settle for the Redbird Club or Terrace level seating until I upgrade, but the Champions Club does look nice.

Well, it looks like ATR reserve is about to be sped up considerably. Flybywire44 was correct; ASA went well above contractual requirements on the final award. It looks like 10 FOs are going to the CR7, while another 5 are going to the CR2. Over 25% of the ATR FOs should be gone by May.

Did you see the real shocker? Pree is going to the CR7. Clearly the end is near.

well about 16 f/os are going into training for the jet pretty soon, so I'd imagine the QOL will improve for most.

You won't see Pennekamp leave until he is pulled off the airplane, literally.

I doubt that many ATR captains will want to stay. Not only do most of the ATR guys in the left seat need the jet time to be more attractive, but life on the ATR will be going downhill in the near future.

Life on the ATR is awesome. Sit reserve and you don't have to worry about the hassle of work. As ASA dumps the A/C life can only get better.

Why will life on the ATR be going downhill in the near future?

I disagree. The statement may be true for the junior ATR captains, and those on reserve, but I can tell you that most of the line holders (especially the senior ones) don't need any time and don't plan to move onto anywhere (think RS, SF, JB, etc). And the top 10 or so are senior enough to not be affected by the line cuts for quite some time. We all stay because the ATR is very easy and very fun. Most of the captains above #10 on the plane will probably stay until the end, then go to the -700.

As much as I'd love for that to be true, it seems my eminent departure from ATR land is forthcoming. I fear another line cut in Feb will put me on reserve, whereas I could hold a good line on the -200.

Of course, there is always the option of bidding long call reserve and not working, but at 75 hour guarantee, versus the 90 I usually fly, it would be a $1050 a month pay cut. No thanks.

Just like that you have become a slave. Look at it as semi-retired with a sweet pension. I know a lot of 60 whooops I mean 65 year olds that would love to sit around and get paid 75 hours!

John, why wouldn't you happily take ATR reserve? You'll fly 2 hours a month and get your guarantee...not like anyone on the ATR breaks guarantee anyway.

I don't get why senior ATR guys don't bid reserve. You get your 6 golden days off, never work....

Good points, the senior guys will stick around but I agree with Pennekamp on the line reductions. That plus the summer heat will run most of the junior ATR Capts off.

I do usually fly 85-90 hrs with pickups and over block. As I said, the $1000 a month pay cut by dropping to guarantee would hurt.

Guess I could get a part time job on reserve with long call.

Yes, having a family will do that to you. We're expecting another child and the wife is quitting ASA. Need the $$$.

Congrats on the new kid!!!

How many does that make, an even dozen? I think you are trying to re-populate the world.

The award date: does that mean that is when they start training, or, possibly, when they are estimated to complete training?

Why was 1 May chosen? It seems kinda far in the future...
