Daily service between the world's largest hub and South Carolina golf havens give customers convenient options for spring and summer travel
ATLANTA, Dec. 18, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Delta will make it easier for customers to hone their putting skills starting this spring with new or expanded nonstop service between Atlanta and two of the most popular U.S. golf resort destinations. Delta Connection carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines will offer new nonstop seasonal service between Hilton Head, S.C. and Atlanta, from March 17 through Sept. 4, 2007. Also this summer, Delta will add seat capacity between Atlanta and Myrtle Beach, S.C., upgrading an existing flight to the larger, two-class 142-seat MD-88 aircraft.
``Whether customers want more time on the green or a relaxing day at the beach, Delta's new service to Hilton Head and expanded service to Myrtle Beach offers customers comfortable, convenient options for travel beginning this spring,'' said Bob Cortelyou, Delta's vice president of Network Planning. ``With the new service, customers in Hilton Head and the surrounding communities will have unparalleled access to the world's largest hub in Atlanta offering connecting flights to nearly 300 destinations across the globe.''
Delta's new three-times daily service between Atlanta and Hilton Head will be operated using the 66-passenger ATR turboprop aircraft featuring two-by-two all-leather seating. With the expanded service between Atlanta and Myrtle Beach, Delta will offer customers nearly 30 percent more seats between March and September. The airline expects to announce additional flights for the 2007 peak travel season later this winter, further expanding summer capacity for Myrtle Beach customers. The increased service at Myrtle Beach will offer a mix of jet and turboprop aircraft, including the MD-88 aircraft featuring 14 seats in first class and 128 seats in economy.
