ASA Driver.. your opinions on the status of our company sadden me..

Answer several questions for me: Why is management worthy of pay bonuses, pay increases, and able to make as many Vice President postions as they want; But on the other hand, our pilot group must settle for less than what we deserve?

av8tor, neither management nor pilots are "worthy" of anything. We both get what we can negotiate. Management has the upper hand in several ways.

1. Management has the ability to transport their "longevity", pilots don't. In other words, an airline manager can move to another airline and get paid about the same. A pilot has to start over at the bottom. IMO, this was a HUGE tactical error on our part.

2. The pilots are negotiating or bidding as separate groups on each property. Here at Delta, the DAL pilots, ASA pilots, CHQ pilots, CMR pilots, and SKYW pilots are all negotiating and bidding separately, while DAL management holds all the cards. Once again, a HUGE tactical error on our part.

Next, why is it our responsiblity as a Labor force to VOLUNTERILY (this is what you are doing) lay down at the knees of our management when they have not asked us for concessions.

ASA Driver, it is not your job to save Delta Mainline..It is not even your job to Save ASA if it needed saving.. YOUR JOB IS TO SUPPORT THE NEGOTIATION OF A FAIR WORKING CONTRACT. Let our high paid managers save Delta, they are the ones that got us into this position in the first place (example: simplifares, LEO MULLINS bankrupt protected golded parachute,etc.)..

To answer this question av8tor, reference number 1 above. Your right, it is not the pilots "responsibility" nor our "job" to save Delta. However, the pilots have the MOST TO LOSE of ANY group. This is why you see pilot group after pilot group capitulate. I can't afford to start over and I am not willing to fall on my sword to protect a mythical "industry standard". Allow me a way to transport my longevity, and I will change my mind - until then, NO WAY!

If our management wanted Concessions they would ask for them, then the concessions would be evaluated by our MEC, and then the concessions would be voted on by the pilots...that is not what is going on here.. We need your support to get a fair contract.

We are not trying to bankrupt the company.. we are just asking for a fair contract... It has been 2.5 years of negotiations and only 10 sections TA'ed..

ASA DRIVER, ONE MORE TIME FOR YOU... WE ARE NOT TRYING TO HURT DELTA OR ASA... WE JUST WANT TO NEGOTIATE A FAIR WORKING AGREEMENT.

Yes you are trying to "HURT DELTA", that is the whole point of picketing and threatening a strike. That is how labor exerts it's demands, by hurting the company. I don't feel the time is right.

ASA driver, please consult with a P2P member, and check the MEC webpage and read the negotiation updates.. INFORM YOURSELF.. You are obviously uniformed of our situation.. you make it sound like the pilot group wants to kill the company.. NOT TRUE.. we cant even get managment on the other side of the table to speak... Read your negotiation updates! get informed

I am a P2P member, and I have informed myself. I have spoken with current and former members of the LEC and MEC and former members of the negotiating committee. There are those who were involved who do not agree with the current approach and they have valid points. There are two sides to every story.

I hear the turnout wasn't very good today for the picketing. Is ASA's MEC in tune with it's membership? Is it possible that the majority of ASA pilots realize the new reality? Is now the best time to pick a fight we can't win? Hmmmm... don't follow Bob A. off a cliff.

Yeah well instead of hearing, why don't you come out and actually walk a few circles with us, your bretheren. Maybe that will bring you back to reality.

It is our MEC that needs to be brought back to reality!
