So I think I figured out the other day that roughly 80% of the ASA fleet is 50 seaters.

I think the Delta deal ensured 80% of the ASA flying would stay at ASA.

So connecting the dots I was thinking SKYW will take all the 70's and the new aircraft and we will be a 50 fleet with ATR's as a kicker.

I haven't even heard the usual "we're getting 80 jets" rumors in a while which leads me to believe there is really nothing in the works.

Note: I think this was decided before ASA was sold. This has nothing to do with the contract or the letters from management. In short save the Union VS management rants... They are old.

So connecting the dots I was thinking that you are a not so terribly bright flame-baiter.

I've heard rumors of 20-40 New Atr-72-500s, and from more than the usual people.

I laugh when someone says "I heard a rumor..."

These were the "rumors" when I was a new hire in 1998:
-ACARS funding is approved, will be installed soon
-Dash 8 Q400s will replace the ATR soon
-LAX base to replace AA Eagle flying
-SLC will be a base for the E120
-ATRs will go to BOS
-ERJ 135s will replace the E120s

The only one that has happend is ACARS 8 years later!

Pogue why is it so unreasonable that SKYW would stick with the 80% they negotiated with Delta.

I started the ATRs going to BOS. I'm still kind of proud of that one...:)

I heard it from a friend who...heard it from a friend who...heard it from another you been messin' around.

I had an old Eastern guy as one of my professors. He said they used to play a game: start a rumor at the gate on the east coast, and see if it had reached the west coast by the time they landed.

The ASA equivalent:

Start a rumor at the gate in Dothan.

See if it's reached Atlanta by the time they get parked in Atlanta!

;)Did'nt you guys hear? A CP told me that ASA just bought Skywst and they are going to merge the lists! DOH plus 50 90 seat airplanes IF we fly for one rate?

Charlie Tutt started the rumor about the ATRs. He told our class the other day that they were "looking" at the 500s. ATR had one at the airport the other week and gave a demo ride.

Not really the same. It takes longer to fly DHN to ATL and get parked by ASA than it takes to fly coast to coast.

True dat playa!

ASA = Always Super Arrogant. Apparently they think they are the only pilots with a plight and the only ones who deserve raises. Just take the paycut already. Quite frankly everyone is sick of your whining.

Why don't you just shut up? No one asked you, and here is a thread with ASA pilots making fun of OURSELVES. Crawl back into your hole. And you haven't seen arrogent, since you weren't there for the CMR strike.

Your right I wasn't there for the strike. Good thing I wasnt. That strike was a tard strike. A complete waste of time. If we comair pilots had been reasonable we wouldnt have had to vote in that paycut.

D'Angelo is always talking being cheaper is better more movement, more flying, a fast upgrade IS a pay raise, etc... If all this stuff is so great why did he start flying with the regional airline with the industry leading contract? Why aren't we getting all these messages from Captain D'Angelo, Mesa Airlines? If he hates unions and what they stand for why isn't he Captain D of Skywest airlines?... an airline with fast upgrades and no union. Just wondering.

:DFortunately I don't see Dckheads posts anymore! He is BANNED from my eyes and I LOVE every minute of it!!! But to answer your question....He is just a "Gum Flapping PUDD!!!!" He "talks the talk, but does NOT WALK THE WALK!!"

I'll bet you don't have the guts to walk into your crewroom and tell the guys that WERE there for the strike that they are a bunch of "tards". And if your theory about flying for less lets al that growth, where exactly are all CMRs new airplanes that they were supposed to get after you voted in the concessions a couple of years ago?

He gets you guys every time. You put him on your ignore list but then post that he is on your ignore list.
So you see a guy with a fat nasty chic who do you blame. I'm the type that blames the guy for poor taste. I don't blame the girl for being fat and nasty... See what I'm getting at here.

O.K. I'll do it.

The Delta deal supposedly ensures 80% of DCI flying from ATL is done by ASA, not 80% of ASA flying staying at ASA.

Using your logic, take 80% of all DCI flying and that is how many planes ASA will need.

Having said that, if we strike does that void the 80% deal? I would think so.

Then we will see who will fly the work. True colors will be shown.

Dangelho and Superhoover would.

Whoops thanks for that I can see my logic was flawed. What percentage of ATL DCI flying does ASA do now? If it is above 80% would the elimination of the 70 bring it down to 80%?

It was posted on MyASA not too long ago. We do about 400 departures from ATL and the rest do about 60.
