Me First!

Come on now guys, DW's "me first" attitude shouldn't surprise anyone. He's a typical politician. He's currently in power, and taking advantage of his position for all it's worth. It's just too bad some ornery pilot didn't call him out on it and show him the back of the line.:smash:

Ps

PS-Perhaps the reason ASA is only contributing 1% to the PAC has to do with old Worthless being unable slow the race to the bottom. In fact, as I see it, DW is criminally negligent when it comes to protecting this profession at ALL levels. I can barely keep food on the table, I won't be skipping meals anytime soon so that guy can keep gas in his ALPA provided vehicle!:uzi:

Some of DW's "allowances" are more than what most regional FOs make. If they give to the PAC, that will be less TopRamon to put on the table.

Since we pay him about $400,000 per year, he should let the people who pay his salary go first. He cares more about the Delta guys then he does us. I think he should be out of a job.

It just so happens that Duane is up for re-election this year at the BOD. It also happens that Groups B,C, and D are now within 1000 votes of a majority over Group A. If a mainline group strikes and folds, group A will be minority.

This will be the most interesting BOD since 2000. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

I have no desire to defend Duane, but for the record, he and the other "VIP" guests were invited to graze first by the event MC, not by their own invitation. Tables were sent up one by one, and Duane's table was first, followed by the DAL Council 44 table.

It's time for you to go non-union and get stapled at SkyWest. Or, join a regional ALPA-like union, or create one. Go for it!

Absolutely, blame mainline management. They got themselves hedged to heavily in RJs. They let themselves get into very lopsided agreements with regional feed. Just remember, however, that the gravy train will not last forever. UAL, DAL, and NWA cannot guarantee profits for feed while sustaining heavy losses because of the feed forever.

I think that is true.

The problem is basicallly that 50 seat jets require a higher fare to break even. When management started using them to compete against AirTran DC-9s and 737s, SW 737s, Jetblue Airbuses, and ATA's menagerie, they couldn't charge enough for the ticket.

Plus what passenger in their right mind would choose a cramped RJ seat over a more spacious NB seat where they get better service and possibly even in-flight entertainment?

That's the problem - it will stay in Vegas. They should tape the whole thing and show it to the membership.

That doesn't make me feel any better. I know our ALPA guys are busting their butts, but why do they continue to treat ALPA national and the Delta MEC as "VIPs". The Delta MEC doesn't care about us at all, why were they even there?
