would it be safe to say that a new hire will most likely go to the 50 seater, or does it depend you think on the number of 70 seaters / how many people bid it ??

Just a WAG, but my guess is 50/50 distribution of new hires.

Since there is over 50 F/Os on reserve on the 50 in ATL, and only 7-8 on the 70, and we are getting 15 70s this year, my guess would be new hires are all going to the 70.

Negative ghostrider!

While all new bids will be for the 70, they will most likely come from within and leave new hires to the 50 or ATR. It's all about the money. As for DFW being junior, that is only true on the 50. Holding a line in the right seat of the 70 at DFW is at 3.3 years. Hopefully, some of these deliveries will bring some parity to the domiciles.

I dont agree. If it were for the money, they would have bid over already. Everyone I talk to would rather have quality of life/better schedules, than 1-2 dollars more an hour. Heck who knows, it could all go senior. Its gonna be fun watching the awards. If they do indeed go to the newhires, than you will see senior guys bidding it more as they will be higher up the pole. Right now Im @ 200 out of 300 on the RJ, but on the 70 I would be @ 5 from the bottom. A few more bucks dont matter to me. However, if we get 100 newhires on the 70, then I will consider it.

3.3 years on the 700 in DFW will get you a nap line at best. Unless the senior guys choose reserve.

The 70 pays a little more per hour, but a line on the 50 puts more in your pocket than reserve on the 70, even as a CA, and you have more QOL. Like bailout said, new guys will likeky go to the 70 and when there's enough cushion, senior guys will bid over. If I was a new hire, I'd go for the 50, you'll get off reserve sooner as senior guys make the leap to the 70 and being off reserve will mean more money.

Bailout posted the number of reserve FO's on both the CRJ 50 seater and 70 seater in ATL. Anyone based at DFW have the number of FO's on reserve in DFW?

I am curious also, about study materials for the CRJ. Yes, I am a still a poolie but would still like to look over some of the callouts, etc if they are available anywhere. Just for fun, of course.

Thanks!

Right now in DFW there probably isn't more than 20 on reserve, as far as F/Os go. And with the movement to the 70 and capt. upgrades that seemes like its going quick. A lot of capts have been being extended which sounds like we are getting short on capts in DFW. But I've been told that ATL still has too many capts. I'm near the bottom of the list and got a line this month so its looking better. Growth is defenaly out in DFW.

Hey guys,

Just for your info, we just had a new seniority list released.

When the Jan 2nd 2003 class was hired the most junior pilot was 1606, he is now 1548.

That means we have lost for various reasons, 58 pilots in one year. This should mean calls for classes in the very near future. I am DFW based and yes the days of being extended will be coming again

Sounds to me like we should be standing by waiting for the phone call any day now!! A call now would probably mean a class date in early February. Then still a few months until we are on line. So maybe it will happen sooner (Feb) rather than later (April)!!!

Any inside rumors, training dept buzz please post. Seems like I heard a few ASA threads ago that there were several Capt upgrade classes already scheduled for January. Thus the need for FO's, right?

Thanks all.

I don't think there is a "need" for F/Os right now. We were really over staffed when they got rid of the Brasilla. We are just starting to even out and have the amount we need. Hiring will come in when we start getting the 70 deliveries.
