Arrow Air ....bottom barrel non-sked. Mainly LA SA, some military around the world. They were hiring beginning of the year, as the new ownership came in, Infused some money, got the dc10's, changed the colors, and supposedly ready to run it as an airline. Take that as a grain of salt as the place hasn't been run as an airline for ohhhh about 20 years or more. Has been great place for upper management to get some extra shekkels into their pocket. Reserve at the place sucks, unless you live in miami. 10 day block of days off a month. IBT Union. Quality of mtx and such goes up and down, depending on a number of factors, whether they can get enough licensed mechanics that speak english working or not. Chief pilot is from iceland, possibly icelandair?? Forget the last name but you can recognize it from the strangeness of it. DO/VP of ops is Joe Calvet, I believe. New head honcho (Chairman of the Board or something like that) is Willie Cabeza, he brought in the money men to bring out of BK. Money men are a group of Dr's I believe. Cabeza is young for heading company (37 or so I believe) but he came up through the Arrow Family 90-2000, started as a dispatcher and ended as CEO during which Fine bought Arrow.
Anyways, not sure what the plans are, but Arrow seems to go up and down, if you can get the seniority to be furlough protected you should be safe, otherwise expect 2-3 furloughs first couple of years. Otherwise it is the oldest operating Freight Carrier in the US. (at least the certificate is, the legacy of Batchleor)
