Every CSR I've ever worked with has some portion of deep seated, envy fueled resentmet. For one, they see the pilots during the most stressful part of the pilots day, waiting for the boss to show up, ensuring that everything is right. The CSRs know that the desk is pretty much a dead end job, and know that the pilots get a marginally greater helping of money and glory than they do - though the CSRs have no clue just how much loot is being made. If I had a nickel for every time I heard something in the vein of "Those pilots think they're so high mighty" etc, etc, while out on the line and behind the counter I'd be a rich man. It's the ground pounder inferiority complex. I had it too, yet I had hope.

Whoa.....I have great respect for pilots. I know they are stressed when I see them. And you know...I enjoy working the desk, and I don't believe it is a dead end job...who knows what will come of it. I am working my way up like line..I get discounts on flying! That is a pretty strong statement to make....dont you think???

I know how much loot is made...and sometimes it makes me sick. You just threw EVERY CSR into one catagory...and that nots fair. Kinda like lumping all Corporate Pilots into the same catagory! Hey...and I have never said they think they are high and mighty...just that sometimes you can be high and mighty and NOT have the attitude to go with it.....

I think this whole thing could be summed up in that there are a$$holes everywhere. Every place I've worked, every group I've been involved with all have their share. Some more than others. This is probably no different. But pilots are a generally more arrogant group. It's a fact. I know I'm a d@mn good pilot. Really.

flywithastick said it best.

There are always going to be Pilots who are great people to meet and work with, in all fields of the industry. And there will always be a bunch that have a seriouss attitude problem.

There are a lot of great line guys, who know what they are doing and put themselves out to help some of the crews. And of course, there are a bunch that don't have a clue about working line, who have their own attitude problems.

You will meet all different kinds of people in this business (or any other for that matter). The ones who will help you, or treat you with respect are the ones hat deserve yours, forget all the others.

...but yeah, corporate guys are usually the worst, lol!:D :D :D
