What was ASA flying out of LAX? 50 or 70 seaters? I'm a little more skeptical of this change, and I do hope that XJET has the flying. It would be nice to see a regional that actually cares about it's employees to do it....

Mostly 50-seaters with a few 70-seat trips.

The 70 seaters were used to cover longer flights that the 50 doesnt have the legs for. But XJET has that covered with their XRs or whatever (ERJs with winglets). I don't think it was a capacity thing to use the 70s, just a range thing.

Nope, no one is sure that it's XJET. Rumors or not, I would personally be surprised if XJET got any delta flying.

maybe i'm just drinking far to much cool aid. But if comair pilots pass this TA, I hear they will get a certain % of new flying. Could this be it?

EDIT: I two hope Expressjet and their industry leading contract get it

I really doubt that. Delta seems determined to bury Comair in that cesspool called NYC.

You are kind of correct. We will not be doing LAX flying. We (XJT) will be doing DAL flying out of SLC. Not sure why you would be surprised but hey.....

I'd be surprised because everything else that was a 99% sure thing with other airlines in the past year has fallen through. Don't get me wrong, I want it to happen, but I'm not holding my breath....

Remember Aviacsa, American, Midwest, Frontier, etc. etc. etc.

Just curious where you're from since you're throwing stones..... I'll make sure I tell the thousands of tourists, businessmen, entertainers, moguls etc that they're busy wasting their time in a "cesspool."

Get over it. NYC sucks to fly in and out of. Parts of the city are alright, but it isn't that great.

I don't care how many businessmen, moguls NYC has, but that place is a sh!t hole. People there make it worse.

My thoughts...

Could it be possible that Republic holdings may have gotten the flying. My buddy is in school for the E170 right now, and has awarded DEN for the Frontier flying. They just got the new Jepp revision and VOILLA!!!!, mysteriously there is a bunch of Mex destinations as well as LAX. Hmmmm!!! Yet Frontier is supposedly flying to Mex as mainline only. Kinda makes me think. Not trying to flame, just trying to look at all possibilities. I sincerely do hope that XJET gets it. Great company, great pilot group, great contract!!!

What other regional carrier has the DOT rights to fly into Mexico?

I think that is the biggest hurdle, and XJT has it.

Medeco

Maybe others do too, ohh American Eagle.

I think if Republic gets that flying too, I will throw up in my mouth. Whether XJT got it or not, for the sake of the industry as a whole let's all hope Republic didn't get it.
