Any answer you get to that question here is only as good as the money you paid for the advise - nothing.

Every contract is written differently and every state's laws are different.

You need to ask that question of a lawyer.

And even if they are not enforceable, your company can still drain you wallet as you pay legal fees proving the unenforceability in court.

Above response aside, the short answer is yes. A contract is enforceable, regardless of what you may have heard. What varies from state to state is the tools available to the employer to recover funds owed by the contractor (you).

In Texas, for example, the tools available to a plaintiff to recover after a favorable ruling in a law suit are weak at best. But, the employer can still file reports on your credit, send your case to collections, and give negative responses to PRIA requests. So, you might get away with out paying what you owe (depending on where you live), but you won't be consequence free.

Does anyone know if training contracts are enforceable?

Best thing to do it RUN the other way if a company hits you with a training contract. What this company is telling you is...."we don't trust you..." BAD way to start a relationship. Usually bottom-feeder 135 operations try this stunt. Avoid them!
