Is there any regional flying to be awarded in the near future? Northwest thing is a mess but i suspect it will stay with XJ, 9E, or compass. Is there anymore of delta's flying to be decided? Thanks for the info, I have been out of the loop for a while.

I have heard the delta thing is a fast mover? any idea on a deadline?

the Delta "RFP" has already been awarded, according to Delta they will allow the companies to decide when to announce their awards.

Well that's so cute and clever of them. I guess regionals need the flexibility to leverage the news so as to provide maximum impact against their pilots.

I'll put my money on the announcement comming a week to ten days after the Comair pilots sign an agreement.

On another note, I have put out an RFP to farm out my flying to the lowest bidder. You will report to scheduling as "DrewBlows Express" and fly a beautiful CRJ-700. Of course you will be expected to fly at Brazilla wages (how else am I going to make a profit). I expect you to pick up a minimum of 10 hours of extra flying every month. If you take this deal now I should be able to stay out of bankruptcy, and I promise that you will get to fly a fancy new EMB-170 in the future. I'll even put it in writing, because that's the kind of guy I am, I stick to my word. Seriously!

this will spin some people's mind, according to some email convos with BB "delta hasn't told anybody what the results are."

So is it

1)they haven't told BB and the RAH bunch
2)RAH lost out big time
3)That press release from a week or two earlier was spurious.

My guess is Delta made the decision when Comair won the 1113c against the pilots. Just a guess though, take it for what it's worth (nothing).

Yep - I'm with you. Once Delta has got the $150 million in concessions that ALPA promised to get from the RFP, Delta will award itself with the flying at is wholly owned subsidiary.

Delta and ALPA are only about half a billion dollars away from where they would have been if they had just stapled Comair when they bought them.

  • Buying Comair 2 Billion
  • Enduring a strike $660 Million
  • Funding a strike $12 million
  • Getting to hold your head high and say you never let regional pilots get above your military buddies in a new hire class - PRICELESS
