Hey guys

Does anyone know of any flight departments or charter outfits in Louisiana? I been thinking of moving down there, but only if I can find work. I still have some time to build, but just wanted a preliminary look at the job market down there so I don't sell myself a dream. The fishing is incredible and the duck huntin' is great too. If I can just find a descent job down there that'd be all I need. I sure would appreciate any info

Thanks

Munk

Try Louisiana Aircraft Out of BTR

Louisiana Aircraft in Baton Rouge is ALWAys looking for pilots. Northrop Grumman is also looking for people out of New Orleans Lakefront soon to be Pascagula, MS

Good hunting

Thanks for the info so far, its nice to know there's something out there besides flesh eating bacteria (yikes! Thanks for the link), and oil rig flying.

Gearmonkey: Have you looked at Lafayette, LA. I thought I saw a job posting there awhile back. Good food and nice people.

Entergy

What type of company is Entergy? Are they a descent company?

Domestic energy sales and energy development in China, South America and the UK.

Good flight department. Decent guys and the chief pilot is a Naval Test Pilot.

Entegy is a good company. I have been here 3 years & we have just had a rash of hiring. The current chief retires in november (age 60 mand.), but we've already done an in house replacement and hired a new guy 6 in the last year. The hring was due to new A/C and retirements. We have a DA-2000 2 XLS, and a CE-650 becomes a Sovreign in Feb.

We aren't hiring currently we are trying to break in the two newest people, but keep your ears open in the next 3&1/2 years we will lose 3 more to age 60.

Good luck

Two of the aircraft are based in MSY Two in Jackson, MS. The schedules are good and the Job is good. All of the Airplanes are basically brand new. What else can I say it has been 3 years and I am still here. It must be a pretty darn alright cause my feet get very cold very fast when things started looking too permenant inn the past.

Thanks again for the info. Like I said I have some serious time to build before I can start really applying for descent jobs. I'm getting pretty good experience where I'm at now, so hopefully within the next year I have enough time to at least get an entry level jet job. Right now I'm an insurance whipping boy.

What part of louisiana you would like to move to. I live in the southeastern part of la. I go to college in northern louisiana and plan on finishing in march of next year then i will be out there looking for a job also in louisiana. not much out there for low time pilots. flight instruction is the best bet!

I'd like top move in Louisians over by Texas. I live in the Mid-Atlantic now and I'd like to move for a while, but I don't want to give up my fishin and huntin. I don't care about the money, I'm a quality of life kinda guy. However, I have absolutely 0 interest in flight instruction and am avoiding it at all costs. I don't have anything against it, I just don't think I'd make a good instructor.
