Are there any aviators here that fly in Osan?

Hiya all,..

I was just wondering if there are any current US pilots flying at Osan, Korea who view this board.
I have a question about the on-base aero-club that has rental availibility.

If you are on Osan airbase and have any information about the aero-club can you give me some info.

My brother is a private pilot, he's in Osan for another 6 months and is talking about getting current again flying at the Osan club. From what I understand the guy that runs it has been there for a long time and it's a pretty good place to fly, I'll give my brother a vector to this thread.

Your profile says you're in Kangnung, is there any U.S. military there or is it all Korean?

From what I can see it's all 한국사람 (Korean) guys. Gangneung (강릉시) is really quite a pretty place. You ever been here by chance?

Never been there, I thought you were in the U.S. military when I read your post.
I did a few months in Japan while I was in the Marine Corps.

Osan Flight Training Center: Manager, Tom Morton. DSN: 784-4424, COMM: 082-031-661-4424. Email: [email protected]. This is the only flying club in Korea and everyone is encouraged to come fly with the club.

Thank you for the info, I apologize for such a late response. I've been pretty busy over here.

I'm looking at going to the airport possibly this weekend. I spoke with a really nice woman who works with Mr. Morton, but it seems that I will need an escort of sorts in order to gain base access in the first place.

I have yet to talk with Mr. Morton about the whole issue, but I am hopefull that he, or someone else could possibly meet me at the base etc.

I wonder if it comes down to it,.. hell, maybe I could meet up with your brother at the base and maybe he could be my escort to the aeroclub. Anyway,.. Thank you for your response again.
