What the he!! Is up with the Envoy pilot pack? It's like 4-5 pages and they expect it from every employer of the last 5 years???!!!! Is this normal and wth are they doing? Do the other airlines require this??? I've worked as an instructor for schools that are no longer in business....????

FAA PRIA background goes back indefinitely, background check from previous employers goes back up to 5 years. It's the law these checks are complete before flying the line.

If you are applying to Envoy then you are on crack. Why apply to a gutted, low-morale regional like Envoy? Plenty of better, less-vulnerable regionals out there.

True, except the guys at Envoy are not bottom-feeding, undercutting scum like PSA. They stood strong.

You see your dream classic car on the lot and inquire about it, but the dealer is asking way to much. You try to talk him down but he doesn't budge. You go back next week, but he still won't budge. He won't even talk about it, the price is firm. You go back next week. He's got to come down sooner or later, right? But you discover that the car has been sold. Not only that, but the dealer got the price he was asking for. Who should you blame for stealing your car, he dealer or the guy who bought it?

Good point. Certainly doesn't help with career expectations, though. This is a ROUGH industry and I feel for a bunch of my Eagle/Envoy buddies out there who are now reassessing their options.

So the regional lifer is defending management.

perfect

So according to your theory American Airlines pilots should have taken management's last/final bankruptcy offer right? Glad they didn't.

You think that's bad, some other guy was asking in another thread about Endeavor's "written test" in the interview, which he said he heard was "tough". WTF?! Written test?! Kinda like polishing the brass on the Titanic as it's sinking. Written tests/stringent/picky interviews at regionals was 10 yrs ago. Now they simply need bodies with a pulse; desperately. (and who actually show up for class)

I'm actually planning on going through the interview as practice for future interviews because it is a difficult interview process.

Make sure you also disclose any drug or alcohol issues that have surfaced during the previous 5 years on your driving record. If there are issues they too will obviously have to be disclosed and you must be cleared to work from a qualified substance abuse professional (SAP) if the issue is within 5 years. Most companies are fine with the issue as long as you have attended the required SAP training and return to duty process. Big deal for Part 121 and 135 companies. Since the regional world is so crappy you should also find the Trustee's address and point of contact for any company that is no longer in business due to bankruptcy to properly fill out the 5 year PRIA forms. Could hold up your class dates and seniority until HR has that info. Or don't disclose any of it and see what happens... I'm just saying....
