Well that's because your MAP is moving at about 25K upwind :D

AND?? Air Force Bases are alot nicer than Navy bases!!
 
Dont know about 121, but the 135 I remember allows you to start an approach as long as the weather is above minimums for one approach at the airport.


You can start the VOR approach (min 1sm) if the weather is 3/4 sm vis and there is an applicable ILS to that airport with minimums 3/4 sm or less. Now, in this situation you could not pass the FAF on the VOR approach unless the weather improved to 1sm vis.

And the AF is like living with mommy and the Navy is being out on your own....

In other words, if you need weapons delivered right now. Today. Call the Navy. If you have a few weeks, a couple of months would be nice, call the AF.
