Curious if any uses or has experience with this app? Its on logbookpro.com
Right now I use Logbook PRO on my pc and ppc. Wondering if using APDL would be a better choice on the pocket pc?

I just started using it. It is wonderful. You can cut and paste your daily pairings into it and bam, your schedule including duty times, legal limits, per diems, pairings, scheduled out and in times are all on there. Alll you do is put your tail number and actual flight out and in times. In addition it syncs without a flaw to logbook pro, each leg or the entire pairing can be choosen for your logbook. In the remarks it will even automatically put the CA or FO you are flying with and the hotel. Unreal. It is really worth it.
Just make SURE you have a Windows Xp system and an already working Palm or Pocket PC. Be aware if your computer has XP ,media center edition, your new palm series will not work on it. You will have to get XP pro or home edition for the new PALMS (they don't support XP-MCE)
PM and I will give you a referal code for 10 bucks off! I don't get anything but the same discount and I already have the stuff so the 10$ is useless for me!

Yeah, I use it on my Palm and LBP on my laptop. Its absolutely wonderful. It will "read" your pairings and insert them into your PDA. It even takes the crew and hotel! No more math errors!

Totally worth the money.

It has caught duty limitations/rest requirements several times when I have been too tired to figure it out myself.

At my company, my pay has been audited multiple times. I check the times on record and print a nice neat monthly Pay report from APDL and fax it to them. They have credited me three times. Has more than paid for itself.

Get it!!!

Buy it. You won't regret it. Best thing in the flight bag as far as I'm concerned.

So by previously purchasing logbookpro for the PDA, that was a waste, as I should have gotten this app instead?

I've never used the pda version of LBPro, so I can't say for sure. But if it doesn't calculate 30/7, Required Rest, Whitlow Rest, pay, per diem, rigs, and have an area to track expenses, then yes, it was a waste. Plus, it syncs right into LBPro.

Works great but there is a problem when you have "stand-ups", "highspeeds", "CDO" [whatever you call them] on following days as it does not do two trips on a single dayh.

Ok all here is a $10 discount for you if you want to purchase any Logbook Pro solution. I have used NC Software for years and entrust my times with Neil and his staff. Check his page out at WWW.LogbookPro.com

Works fine on W2K as well. SP4 anyway.

Yeah I have to say, I wish I had the ADPL program when I first started 121 flying, it is so easy to keep track of time now!

Is anybody here using SkyGuide for pocketPC???

I am. I am on the trial version. It works fine but it does not show SWA, Spirit or JB. In the printed version it show those as well. I wish they would have a different interface other than Internet Explorer, because it is a bit slow even on a fast PDA compared to other proggies.

I have to correct you on this one. All you do is select the option menu from the bottom of the screen and there is an option to add another trip to the same day.

The coupon should have worked. here it is again, try typing it in instead of copy and paste, that is if you did that! I hope it works. Sorry for the problem!

I used to have the same problem. But it is fixed. Use the "generic crewtrac CDO" option when importing your schedule. Experiment with some others if it doesn't.

If all else fails, E-mail Neil at LbPro, he WILL fix it for you. Great support, best I've ever seen from ANY software co.

Got some questions with the program:

1. Pay rate. What do we put in there? Our pay rate per hour? Does this take into effect a 75 hr minimum pay for being on reserve?

2. Where do we put in the Aircraft Number for the flight?

3. Why is there an option to input a "deadhead leg?" Is this for rest requirements? I don't know anyone who puts a deadhead leg in their logbook.

4. If we are flying reserve, do we select Reserve instead of block from the dropdown box?

5. How does this program compute duty times based on weather delays? I believe our company (American Eagle) can extend you to 16 hr duty day if you have delays due to weather.

Um, your pay rate in USD per hour. And, no, it doesn't take into effect your gaurantee. You can also enter per diem rates, duty and trip rigs, min day, etc.

Under the Flight number on the right side. You can also build a data base and just retrieve the aircraft N number from a pull down menu.

Incase you deadhead....APDL generates your pay totals. Enter the dead head info into the database. AE gives you 1:2 for deadhead. Enter that ratio and the payrate and it will compute your pay automatically.

No, deadheading can be part of your duty period.

Me either. Welcome to Airline flying.

Yes.

Duty time is duty time. 16 hours is the max the FAA will allow, even if Eagle thinks that they are doing you a favor. Duty is cumulative. APDL computes your duty time, and does Whitlow look-back, and 30 in 7. It will also warn you if you are approaching scheduled 16 hours, 30 in 7, 8 in 24, etc.

There is a user's manual on APDL web site. It describes each page use. It would be a good read on your next deadhead.

Good luck.
