I hear AMR management and the APA came to an agreement. I also hear it's really not different than the deal, that was rejected. Do any AA pilots have any inside scoop? Thanks,
Scoot

"This afternoon the APA Board of Directors voted to present AMR management with a comprehensive counter-proposal. Management responded by agreeing to APA’s proposal. The APA Board of Directors will proceed in compliance with policy-manual requirements and vote to send the agreement-in-principle to the membership as a tentative agreement for a ratification vote. APA designed our comprehensive counter-proposal to provide our pilots with an industry-standard contract while enabling American Airlines to complete a successful restructuring and compete on a level playing field with its network-carrier peers. The Board’s vote on the motion to present the comprehensive counter-proposal was 13 for, two against and one absent. We will provide details of the new agreement-in-principle shortly."

So I guess now that Horton has all his ducks in a row he can exit out of bankruptcy strand alone.

If they come out of BK independent, then my bet is they go after JetBlue. I think only Parker wants a US/AA combo at this point.

.......And JB being a LCC, will immediately become UN-PROFITABLE!!

Just curious, what value do you see for AA in a JetBlue takeover? JFK & BOS hub? Sounds alot like getting rid of competition and will never get past the DOT.

Look how good it worked out with Business Express! (sarcasm) AMR has a checkered past with acquisitions. No need to bring common sense into it now.

That's exactly what AA wants. The only reason half of these "Mergers" happen nowadays is to get rid of competition. JetBlue has what AA wants, more slots at JFK. AA sells the Terminal to Delta, divests some slots for DOJ Approval, and they call it a day.
