Just wondering if anybody has heard or seen an update to the cause/ details of 5966???

I have a buddy over at NTSB who indicated that they are concentrating purely on CFIT. No mechanicals, etc.

Good to hear it.

Now maybe, possibly, pilot fatigue will get some attention and resolution. (Although that's what I thought after the AA crash in LIT, too.)

Fingers crossed, hoping some good will come of this awful crash.

There is an editorial in Jan 05 Professional Pilot, "outer marker inbound"
that should be required reading for Senate Aviation Subcommity
members, Crew Schedulers, FAA, NTSB, pilots, and especially airline
management types that addresses the rest issue very well.

I suspect that it will be disregarded...
