They have a CL-65 full motion sim as well.
UND doesn't have any full motion sims.

whats the deal with alg and upgrades.....are you guys/gals getting shafted? I hope not, mad props to my hommies at EN.

No PDT guys are not getting shafted. ALG guys are allowed to bid into Capt openings at PDT as their senority allows. Its all part of the integration. If I were still at ALG I could take the upgrade or reupgrade at PDT. From the lists I've seen I could be a line holding Capt in EWN or one of the VA bases. However I'm at MDA and cannot bid PDT unless there is a furlough at MDA in which case we (WO guys) are supposed to be able to flow back to PDT. So they say.

Had I known this past sumer that I would be a Capt again by DEC I would have held off on MDA but at the time it looked like there would be no reupgrades of any downgraded ALG guys so the decision to go to MDA was pretty clear.

Remember this, at the end of 2005 PDT's leases start to expire so some of these upgrades may be only for 12 or so months. It will be just like what happened to some of us at ALG, when the leased aircraft were returned we got returned to the right seat.

However as we all know this changes daily/weekly/monthly or whatever. In the end of course I hope for the best for all of us. May the senior mainline guys retire, may the mainline MDA and furloughs move back up, may the WO guys at MDA move to the left seat and above all may the long serving, hard working 20 plus years warriors at PDT and ALG retire with everything they deserve before 2008.

From what I heard all the leases will be renewed, and Group wants PDT (ALG) to continue to operate between 60-70 Turbo props. ALG planes were gonna go back, but since there newer and the fact that they have the 200's wing spare (Which Bombad. will up the weights by 700Ibs, they will be renewed). From the stuff we hear, they want PDT to be the sole turbo prop carrier at US Airways. So in the near future some contracts with other Prop carriers will end. All the sudden with oil 50 bucks a barrel, the Dash 8 seems to be lookin a bit better.
All rumor, gotta love it.

Thanks for the information on my old alma mater PDT. I flew their from 1986-1996; Dash 8's the entire time, and had the time of my life. I know you newbies lookin to move up(?) into the jets might find this hard hard to believe especially given the precarious situation USAir is in today, but I can honestly say I wish I was still on the senority list there. The grass isn't neccesarily greener on the other side contrary to what one might think. Keep the info coming ....
