It's been mighty quiet about Kalitta lately. Any updates on the negotiations? I see they are going to be at the Aeroservice career fair in MIA next weekend, so I guessing that they are planning on running classes soon.

Also, are there any fellow-former-XJer's there that would help a brother out?

One thing is go to the jobs fair and bring your stuf. There are a lot of XJer's here. But I am not one of them. Try to contact your co-workers and classmates if any is working here that you know of. But plan on going to the job fair is free and worthy, as 99% of the hiring are made there.
Good Luck

What do you think would get more mileage, an internal rec or the face to face in MIA? The loads this time of year make off-line jumpseating to FL questionable.

Buy a ticket then!

Both if you can pull it, both. I went to the fair in June, did the met and greet on Sat. interview, sim and drug test on Sun and then called a week later for a class.
I didn't have any internal refferals, that said the more you have the better of you'll be.
On Sunday I met a few guys, more than a few actually, who had internal referrals and they did their met and greet/interview on the Friday prior to the fair and were there to do the drug screen and sim. One way or the other your gonna jumpseat somewhere.

P.S. I don't know if their planning on same weekend interviews or not, Mine was, but I haven't heard any hard new hire class dates, I've heard they are planning on hiringa buch in '06

4fanman,
Kalitta is a good company to work for, if your coming from a regional or haven't ever done 17 day lines or long haul international flying its a big adjustment. But if I can, ......

I you want PM me and tell you more,

Dumbluck said it all. If you have way to get it both use both otherwise I think the fair still the best because they wanna seat dwon with and know you and they normally interview right there on the day after.
If you really want the job do whatever to JS there I did and was high season and I leave in Louisiana so anyone else can do the same.

I'm planning on attending and will probably break down and buy a 1 way down there and then just JS home. It looks like I might be able to stop by YIP next week as well. I'll bug them until they hire me or tell me to go away.:D

I believe there is word about a standard size class, 12 FO/6 FE in March or April.

That is the latest from the gals at the training department.
